Yeah it's a load of rubbish. Can't tell me that someone on 170k a year can't find somewhere to live that is close enough to travel to work, even in Sydney.
If the wife doesn’t work, and you have x costs on top of rent, it’s a pretty poor wage now, crazy to say out loud but taking in taxes, bills and family expenses it’s not good enough for afl clubs anymore
Trying to pull another John BlakeyYeah it's a load of rubbish.
Sydney must have some more gun academy kids coming up, they always cry poor as a distraction when they are getting handed another advantage.
Pridham is an entitled snake

No to Chaz Cameron. Lions will want two first round picks and we are not in that space. Speaking of Brissy, I have been told by a few people Joe Daniher wants out and wants to get back to Melbourne so let’s see how that plays out.
Serious question, do players pay for their own gear now? With stricter salary cap arrangements and fringe benefits tax I'm guessing they are out of pocket for some stuff? The guy makes $170 000 a year - that's a decent salary, if he got 9.8% extra for cola how does that make the difference to buying a house in Sydney?
Bold decision

When the minimum wage feels like 100k you know we have jumped the shark, think the average was 90 last time I checkedThanks fir the heads up. I’m on the phone to the boss right now for a 60% pay rise.
I don’t disagree but the softcap is also weak for every club, it got cut in Covid but needs to change pretty quickly.Sydney could use their cap space to give their lower paid coaches pay rises if they really wanted.
What does Longmire earn? $1mill a year? Take a cut to $950 000 and there is an extra $50 000 a year. Maybe they have too many coaches, cut one and give the other an increase.
If they are struggling, then he either finds another job that pays him what he needs or his partner gets a job (if he has a partner). If the wife doesn’t work, and you have x costs on top of rent, it’s a pretty poor wage now, crazy to say out loud but taking in taxes, bills and family expenses it’s not good enough for afl clubs anymore
We need to avoid doing a St.Kilda and topping up to play finals and then crashing back down.
Depends on what you mean by gearSerious question, do players pay for their own gear now? With stricter salary cap arrangements and fringe benefits tax I'm guessing they are out of pocket for some stuff?
If this is the case, why do Adelaide get the same soft cap as everyone else?Who cares where Longmire lives. He and all the coaches and staff have to live in Sydney which is significantly more expensive than Melbourne or Perth.
This, by the sounds of what was discussed last night, briefly I must add, isn't a Salary Cap rort like last time before it was abolished, but an allowance for Sydney based members of staff to entice them to be attracted to move and work or be retained in Sydney instead of moving back to the larger fishbowl in Melbourne or other states where it is even less expensive.
Jordan Dawson was mentioned as he was able to buy his house in Adelaide for half of what he was able to find for something similar in Sydney.
It is why salaries in Sydney are higher than other cities too. You have to pay them to retain or attract them. Unfortunately, the soft cap is the same for all clubs.
Yuk. You need to watch more footy if he’s your favourite player outside of the HawksThis is no doubt an unpopular opinion in here but Joe Dirt is my favourite player outside of the hawks.
Id love to have him for a few years but not sure it's the best move for our list, or for him.

Surely now that we took Jasper Scaife a 19 year old 197cm KPF in the mid season rookie draft, that confirms the Lewis rumours and now it’s just figuring out the trade…I know it's been mentioned before - but they are very interested in Lewis. Take that one to the bank.
(No idea what Lewis' position is on this, mind)
I know you're posting this in jest but also with some truth to it. I'm a little worried about what this pick means for Lewis. We may cut and run IF the offer we get for him is overs.Surely now that we took Jasper Scaife a 19 year old 197cm KPF in the mid season rookie draft, that confirms the Lewis rumours and now it’s just figuring out the trade…
And if we picked a midfielder would you be similarly worried about Worpel? I think you’re jumping at shadowsI know you're posting this in jest but also with some truth to it. I'm a little worried about what this pick means for Lewis. We may cut and run IF the offer we get for him is overs.
Yeah a pisstake as you rightly clocked despite my lack of text colouring. The only reason he might entertain it would be if he thinks another program might sort out his injuries as it must be incredibly frustrating now for him.I know you're posting this in jest but also with some truth to it. North are desperate for a "big fish"I know you're posting this in jest but also with some truth to it. I'm a little worried about what this pick means for Lewis. We may cut and run IF the offer we get for him is overs.
Was always going to raise its ugly head the minute Buddy retiredfox footy reporting COLA is coming back ?!
I would do a straight swap for Bailey Fristche,I know it's been mentioned before - but they are very interested in Lewis. Take that one to the bank.

Good point and could absolutely be jumping at shadows. Fingers crossed I am.And if we picked a midfielder would you be similarly worried about Worpel? I think you’re jumping at shadows
You'd think Scaife was selected because the club feels he has tools that will translate to the top level. He's still a developing project just like Ramsden and with Clasher looking likely to play a fair amount of games at AFL level he'll likely now fill his void at Box Hill and be used as an insurance policy just in case Lewis' season doesn't get underway.Good point and could absolutely be jumping at shadows. Fingers crossed I am.
I'm just always mindful of the obvious when it comes to trading - that to get something decent you have to give up something decent in return.
I could absolutely see another club offering Lewis a cracking deal which may turn his head. Money and job security with his injury record would be awfully tempting.
Swans are scrambling to retain Warner I'd say.
Sydney's motto should be
"When in doubt, ask AFL for another hand out."
Worse than the shinbeggers. Spoon fed, then claim it's the CULTURE. F#$king spare me.
