I would do a straight swap for Bailey Fristche,
or a swap of their first + a player, for our second.

If we got an end of first round for Lewis I’d run and hide for awhile. Early second round most likely. Guy can’t get on the park.

Would you offer our first and future first for Max King from the saints if he wanted out?

Talents being wasted by Ross's slow ball movement.

I would, 23 years old already had a 50 goal season, has his flaws but is probably still a year or two off even entering his prime.

They'll burn the place down if Ross trades out the great white hope Max King for anything less than a King's ransom (pun intended)

unfortunately, Mitch Lewis has chondromalacia patella. unless there are some lunatic clubs out there that feel they have a magic cure for this, he's not worth much as a trade, despite how good (and he is bloody good) he is.
sadly, his long-term future must therefore be under a smallish cloud, no matter what BS our medical and marketing people spew out. If he wasn't 95kgs and required to repeatedly jump and sprint over short distances for 120 mins a week, he'd be ok in 3-4 months.
cartilage regeneration is a tricky thing, new treatments look promising but certainly in their infancy.
fingers crossed for him, hope he proves the exception to the rule.

We got a good young forward who had kicked 40+ goals for a lot less than 2x first rounders. Not sure he adds the value expected for that price.

I think we should just bite the bullett with Mitch and put him out for as long as he needs to to try and get his knee right ( they are probably doing this anyway)

If it means missing the rest of the season so be it. Pump games into Dear and have a look and Scaife later on in the season

Mitch when fit is a genuine A grade key forward. Do whatever takes to get him gif and sound

The Swans don't make any money, they are an AFL funded club
Maybe it’s in the AFL’s interest to buy a property or 2 for assistants to live in.
It’s got to be a better investment than just paying an extra 9.8% each year ($712,950) towards their soft cap.

5 yrs of an extra 9.8% would be approx 2 houses in Syd at the average house price.
Also an asset for the AFL.

You say that as if it’s a bad thing.

2 birds 1 stone
We get an ok FF
AFL get rid of the Saints 😉

Why don't the $wans purchase properties and allow their assistant coaches live in them rent free.
I'd be almost certain that would be considered rotting the soft cap. Otherwise why wouldn't moneybags clubs like us, WCE, Collingwood etc do the same.

Additionally the tax man then gets involved (taxing them on the rentable value )and they may find they're no better off.
