It's also worth keeping in mind that the kid almost died after contracting septic arthritis and the club (GWS) stood by and looked after him. In the early stages it was reported that doctors thought he might have an autoimmune disease which was later diagnosed as septic arthritis. When the player feels comforted and looked after like that anyone of good character never forgets things like that and feels indebted to the club and re-signs on and sometimes even takes a bit of a pay cut as a thank you.Not that it matters to the subject if this thread, but Taylor himself said he took less than what was on the table to stay and also to help keep good players in the team and attract more. Said he was always intending to stay an Giant and it was an easy decision.
Maybe he’s talking shit, but that wasn’t the vibe I got listening to him.
Tim Gossage apparently reporting on SEN WA that Curtin is looking to return to Perth
Me too, I couldn't believe we would overlook him. I guess that's why we leave it to the experts!I wanted Curtin in the draft so glad we dodged that bullet in retrospect.
Hardly a shock, every bloke and his dog knew he would want to return home he basically said as much in his pre-draft interviews. Brother comes out next year as well and I wouldn't go near him either despite him looking like a good prospectTim Gossage apparently reporting on SEN WA that Curtin is looking to return to Perth
Curtin is contracted for two more years. Adelaide have all the power. West Coasts first rounder seems a fair demand. What makes it even worse is the crows could've gotten the eagles F1 for Curtin last year.
No chance thats on offer now given his output.

Nice big Buddy sized hole though.Gulden, Blakey, Hayward, Mills, Papley, Heeney all on massive contracts with big paydays for McDonald and Warner coming up.
Florent, Rowbottom, McInerney, McCartin certainly wouldn't be on peanuts either.
Did someone say ambassadorial payments?
Picked it the day after the draft when I saw him walking around the Docklands like a lost soul.Tim Gossage apparently reporting on SEN WA that Curtin is looking to return to Perth
Sucks for Crows if true but he’s still contracted until end of 2026 (3 year draftee deals).Tim Gossage apparently reporting on SEN WA that Curtin is looking to return to Perth
I forgot this. Thanks for the reminder Bugs1977. I agree. It's also worth keeping in mind that the kid almost died after contracting septic arthritis and the club (GWS) stood by and looked after him. All you can do is wish the kid good luck and that we'll see you on GF final day in the near future
Lachie WellerThey won't be giving up pick 3 for a player taken at pick 8 the year before who has clearly lost some value.
If true that he wants out the eagles will split pick 3 and hand over a later first round selection.
West Coast aren't incompetent like GC.Lachie Weller
No way eagles do that.Sucks for Crows if true but he’s still contracted until end of 2026 (3 year draftee deals).
Eagles first or future first probably gets it done in a straight swap.
A top 15 pick is probably overs for Smith really… He’s coming off an ACL and wasn’t really in great form prior to that- also has a history of behavioural issues…
2nd rd pick should be the starting point and work from there - you reckon Geelong would just roll over and cough up their best picks??
Think we need to bargain hard if he nominates us… they’ll have to trade him if he wants out…
Do both NSW teams need the COLA since they're splashing the cash?Nice big Buddy sized hole though.
