If Harley Reid says bring me home Hawks, I doubt Sam Mitchell would have any hesitation moving on some much loved players to get the deal done.

There will be heart break like the Hodge deal. But Reid is a talent worth the trauma.

Ward, MacKenzie, Lewis and others could be on the table with our first and F1.

No they couldn't, this isn't the NBA. No-one can be moved on without agreeing to it.

This isn't fantasy football mate. No one from hawthorn will want to leave that is of any value

Hawks get this guy. Forget Battle and Barass. This is a guy to pry out of a diminishing team if he’s looking for more success. Perfect age for our group with plenty of years ahead of him.

Look what we got when Clarko asked Jordan Lewis to go to the Gold Coast. If you try and force a player out they end up choosing a club they prefer in their home state and you get a crappy deal.
West Coast are in for years of pain and none of our VIC players are going to agree to be traded to them.

Seriously this. Balta is a deadset gun - if there is even the smallest whisper of discontent, I'd love us to throw a tonne at him. Plays both ends but is so good down back.

Only way he leaves though is if he starts wanting out. Richmond will want a lot too.

I admit I have only watched H.Reid about 4 times on TV and in one of those games (think it was the Richmond one) he played very well, the other times I saw him and took notice he seemed to go all DGB for long periods of the game.
Maybe I need to watch him more but IMO I’d take Sheezel over him if I had a choice.
Honestly right now I'd take Sheezel over Reid any day of the week and it's not even close.

Sheezel is a deadset freak to be doing what he is at his age. Him and Daicos will be the two top players of their generation in my humble opinion.

He is an RFA next year, likely Richmond finish as the wooden spooner next year so would get pick 2 if he leaves.

So would they wanna fast track their rebuild before Tasmania come in with picks 1 and 2.

Of course.
Mitchell sits down w Ward and/or MacKenzie and tells them games will be scarce since our midfield is full. West coast will play them both as starting mids plus salary bumps.

It will be tempting.

Won’t be Sam’s call.

Genuine question, if we land Barrass and Battle, and with Blanck returning, do BOTH Sicily and McCabe train with the forwards over summer?

McCabe a bit of the forgotten man in this whole conversation.

People assume Barrass automatically pushes frosty out but why couldn’t they play together.
Scrimshaw frost weddle
impey barrass Sicily
Mass IC

People forget how good frosty can be at intercepting and he is quick. That’s a defence that has massive flexibility to play tall and small with nice balance of intercepting and run and carry. That also doesn’t cover Hardwick who can play either end and battle if he comes too. If battle comes I think Sicily would go forward I love weddle in d50 for flexibility but also to give him the most amount of ground to gallop on!
