And a F1, for mine.

The lions NEED a key forward to continue to be a top team and some people may under rate our players but if the lions think Lewis would help them win B2B they pay what we ask, like we are with Barrass, and Brisbane do like Hawthorn players.

Only downside is they need there first for points for young Ashcroft,

what's in it for us?

Simple - we are paying overs for TB because he fills a massive need. Same applies to Brisbane if true. Lewis is exactly what they need. If he wants to go, they pay overs or no deal

For what it’s worth I want him to stay. Will be a massive in come finals 2025

Hawthorn has shown interest in Zac Bailey from Brisbane before and there have been some discussions with his management team. Could he be swayed to return come to Victoria?

Really don't like the Lions being into Mitch. They haven't got much in the way of enticing assets unless there are some players being put into play.

And for someone who is injured all the time the weather up here would help them and would give him a good run at it.

Yeah hang on, I’ve just spent the last 3 months being lectured about how a soon to be 29 year old key position player with significant injury issues HAS to be worth 2 first rounders, in what universe would we ship him off to Brisbane for just pick 18

Mitch Lewis averages 10 games per year in 7 seasons at the club. Yes he averages 1.8 goals per game during that time, but if we snagged pick 18 for him we would be strongly considering that offer.

Pearce can't stay on the park, Moore is overrated, and both May and Gov are probably a year off retirement. Don't know if he's top 5 but I think he suits our side incredibly well.

FWIW Player Ratings have had him as a top 5 key defender for the past 3 years, only other player who has been there with him in all 3 is Sicily.
Pearce has played more games in the last 3 years than Barrass. Both have issues staying on the park. May and Gov are getting towards the end but still are better players.

I’m not saying Barrass is a bad player he’s good. Just not as good as some people are talking him up to be. Barrass plays the same as Moore. Happy to let his opponent get free so he can focus on the high ball.

Player ratings for defenders aren’t a great judge.

That would be pick 19 after Battle's compensation pick

You can do alot with pick 19 it's the best pick after a top 10 pick I think, it's the first pick on the second night, clubs come for it on draft night, we may have clubs offer F1's for it on draft night, if we don't give our one to WC having multiple F1 could help us move up the draft table to get into the top 10 next year or go after a established young player.

Lewis.

Bris…….

Key forward under long contract.

They'd need to pay first round + extra at this point. Injury aside, he is absolute class and a club leader. We won't move him on unless the numbers are right.

We have complete bargaining power here. Players do not want to leave + Lewis knows he'd slot straight back in once he's better. KPF is really the only position we are slightly light on.

You’ve quoted TylerDurden but you need to read his post in full.
There’s the 1st word that will answer your question

If Lewis moves who takes his forward role? We need to make sure we aren't shooting ourselves in the foot given we want to be challenging next year and might need to go through Bris and if we lose Lewis it might be the difference.

Plus I would imagine they would need to pay overs?

Lewis should be worth Barrass and extra. Lewis is more than 3 years younger, and a good Key Forward is much harder to find than a Key Defender.

We're short on list spots. Could be used to build our draft capital in 2025.

Just give Brisbane the number to the Eagles' List Manager. They can fix up the Eagles for Barrass, and find us a F2 pick.

If Mitch Lewis gets a 4 or 5 year offer on 800k per year he would be crazy not to explore that option with his injury history.

Agreed Lewis is a need for us as well. At this stage a fit Lewis is better than Mabs and Calsher. Would not accept anything less than massive overs.

Doubt this gets done, lions could use his injuries to downplay value. Wouldn't expect them to pony up which means Lewis stays.

I'd mostly be interested in young KPF talent eg Morris but that wouldn't make sense for them to bring in Lewis and get rid of a young tall. Maybe a guy like Lohmann but doubt he'd leave.
