I know a team that had 5 picks in the top 30 two years in a row.

In 2004 they picked up:
  • Pick 2: Jarryd Roughhead
  • Pick 5: Lance Franklin
  • Pick 7: Jordan Lewis
  • Pick 21: Tom Murphy
  • Pick 26: Matthew Little
But then in 2005 they picked up:
  • Pick 3: Xavier Ellis
  • Pick 6: Beau Dowler
  • Pick 14: Grant Birchall
  • Pick 18: Max Bailey
  • Pick 22: Beau Muston
One haul was era-defining. The other much less so.
In 2005 there were 3 premiership players. The same as 2004…

I just can't see us agreeing to bring him in then leave him in the cold when push comes to shove. I like the bold stance from the club though. Could be an interesting few days.
Barrass has nominated us, we're trying to deal in good faith and West Coast are trying to pretend as though he's this super valuable, super important player for them despite low balling him with his most recent contract and reneging on a handshake agreement with him. We're not leaving him in the cold.

Gotta be a bluff otherwise its a very strange move.

Every club is trying to move into this draft except for those that have academy picks there is no reason for us to trade out for a future pick.

If we feel like West Coast are asking for too much just stay at pick 14 simple!

Love the strong stance! lets go!

I feel like we’re putting the Eagles on a timer. They need Pick 14 for Baker, or else they’ll need to downgrade Pick 3.

Sleepy Marco just waiting to pull this one out...

“Oh, you want more than Pick 14? Oh, it would be a real shame if we had traded it out already, eh?”

Your move, Weed Coke Illegals. 😇

He's contracted.
And.

My question is, uncontracted (like Smith) and in an open upcoming draft, where is he likely to get selected in the draft.

My answer is probbaly in mid to late second reound. So in a contracted situation, are we not paying a premium with 14.

Can we turn around and do a trade for Bailey Smith just for the lols?

Geelong would go nuclear. :laughv1:
