Is there a chance that this whole thing is just a big media build up to add to the whole trade period drama? What I'm saying is that like years gone by everything has already bee agreed to with Carlton, Richmond, West Coast and Hawthorn.

For example Richmond might've already told WC that they're content with a F1 for Baker knowing full well that they're already going to have a plethora of 1sts coming thorough very soon anyway. WC in turn might've then told us to move pick 14 to Carlton for their F1 + F2 which they to are content with for Barrass.

So all we really end up really giving up for Barrass is pick 14 without adding any steak knives to the deal. I assume this would all be dependent on WC being okay with future picks.

WC – give – Barrass
WC – get – F1 + F2 (via Carlton)

Rumour has it Eagles are into Warner for 2025. F1 could be handy for the eagles if this is true!

It’s all just speculation because they “couldn’t see how the deal gets done”. Carlton have not once been linked to Barrass. Andrew Gaze was talking about the same thing until someone pointed out we could offer F1 and F2 and he was just like…yeah that works lol

We never commit to a player, then walk away. Splitting pick 14 gives us a little more flexibility with what we can deal with now that we have 2x future 1sts and 2x future 2nds.
Barrass will be a Hawk, you can take that to the bank.
