He’s a disciplined but limited player. With his poor ball use and given we are no longer running a full time tagger, I don’t think he’s someone who is likely to be long term best 22 in Sam Mitchell’s side. What’s his value: late second ?

I'd be asking for an early second as it will get pushed out, but will still be a second not push into a third, we need to aim high when going into negotiations, if they clubs really want the players the can pay for him.

Supporters still overvalue their own players and undervalue other players.
Finn would be playing VFL if we have a healthy list. Don’t think we can expect a second round pick - if he goes.
He is the number 1 lockdown player in the league. Just because we choose not to use him for that doesn't mean it doesn't hold value.

Swans don't have one. We'll get a 3rd.
they will get one soon enough when some of their depth players trade out. If Dylan Stephens was on our list last year instead of Swans, we won't have pick 19 now. Would have been satisfied with just pick 44 from North

PS : or we can move pick 30 to pick 19

We will see. Of course he holds value, but doubt it will be a second. If so, take it and run.
I mean some posters here don’t think Barrass is worth an end of round 1 pick.

While I understand it goes against the narrative you’re pushing IF Dylan Stephens was a Hawk they would of got 19 because North were trading those picks as they were no guarantee of retaining it this year

To meet the minimum list requirements I'm expecting we will lose a couple of depth players through trades.
Reeves, Serong, Maginness, Morrison (UFA) would be the names that could find new homes. (Potentially 2 of the 4 elsewhere)

As far as value goes, we have to be realistic about the worth of our depth players.

Individually, Finn, Reeves and Serong would be worth around the pick 35-45 range. (Best case scenario)
If Morrison leaves we don't get any compensation, as the Josh Battle acquisition would cancel that out.

I wouldn't begrudge any of our fringe players if they took better offers elsewhere. It's the nature of the business.

I'm not sure if we will be making any other moves outside of Battle and Barrass, but I would love to add another marking forward option to our list.

As for another A-grade midfielder, Cam Mackenzie will be that guy very soon.

Then they get one from somewhere, why should we take less because a club doesn't have one, if they want him badly enough they may need to get to work in the back ground with out clubs.
Exactly. He is definitely worth a 2nd rounder (more mid to late) and would be a great pick up for the Bombers or Swans. Would compliment their midfields well and play in his best position (on the ball) which won’t happen with us stuck behind other bulls like Newk, Nash and Worpel.

Is Finn contracted for 2025?
Yes. Which is why if we’re not getting something that benefits us at least as much as having him on our list as depth for next year (depth we relied on this year in finals) then we should hold him to it.

If another club has a good contract offer for him then it’s up to them to pony up.

A 2nd rounder is not overs for a player who was taken with a pick inside 30 and has since proven to be a solid AFL role player at minimum.

Correct. A 2nd rounder or he's going nowhere.

Is still developing and improving, had a very good final series and is contracted. Pick 28 from the Bombers with sweeteners or Pick 19 from the Swans for Finn and Pick 30. We knew him unless he requests a trade or we get overs in a trade.

Yep correct if they want us to take a seat at the trade table they start with a 2nd round pick, if not we shouldn't even sit down.

I think a pick in the 30s is probably the fair price. If used as a tagger, and some sides use them more than we currently do, he’s valuable. He’s otherwise a handy role player which is where he sits in our current system. If we could get a pick around 35 after bids etc I’d be pretty comfortable with that.

If we are to lose one of our handy role bowlers players, I’d rather lose Finn than Morrison as at least we will get something back for Finn. I’m keen to keep Morrison, though understand from his point of view why he might also look elsewhere

I’ll believe it when I see it.

I sure do hope people aren’t just reciting Facebook rumors.

Finn ain’t getting a game in the Swans midfield.

I hope we aren't planning around him being a key pillar of our forward line. The odds are not currently with him having a long and consistent career.
The odds you’ve made up?
