It seems to be absolutely paramount to keep the flexibility of a full draft hand in 2025. MM and Co either must have something cooking (KPF) OR it's just that they'll see it as our last chance to add some decent kids before Tassy come in.Hawthorn's latest offer for Barrass – a future first- and second-round selection (the Eagles' choice whether they are tied to Hawthorn or Carlton) for Barrass and a future later pick – has been put to the Eagles. – Callum Twomey
Maybe that's why it's so imperative to have the 2nd rounders there so you can trade out those future 1sts. Does anyone know how the new rules will work?So next year teams will be able to trade future picks 2years in advance but we have to have our 2025 1st rounder
Love you hawkinoz as you try to get max value for us but that’s Dodoro like and MM is a strategist and collaborative negotiator. It’s a very good trade we in all likelihood got a free 2nd and end up with barrass for pick 14. Battle Barrass pick 33 on a KPF and Cody Anderson NGA is a great result. We have had large list turnover and we have quickly changed from a development to performance focus and that requires list stability. What they are doing is highly impressive in all facets.I must be the only one who can't see that. How is it in our favour?
Do most Hawks fans expect Blues to NOT end up Top 6( especially if they get Houston too)? Then the F1 is likely to be pick 12 or under and we did well. If they end up Top 4 as most will assume given their list quality, we are even or doing worse.
Hence I feel we could have done better but sometime you have to bite the bullet as waiting too long can remove options.
Tigers traded picks worth 1700+ points for Pick 20( 900 pts) to Lions but seems like they had to jump the gun as Lions were going to trade pick 20 to someone else who gave them around 1500 pts. All those picks tigers traded out could have been useful in trades for Rioli/Bolton/Baker to give back to Suns/Freo/WCE but they are confident of holding those clubs over the barrel without these picks.
Every year Lions seem to be doing well with such points trade & given Tigers were forced to this trade, I hope they pick Levi at Pick 1 or else Lions are getting talent in cheap.
If we could have replaced the blues F2 with the Lions F2 and as well as added one the Blues 30's pick or their F3, then we would have done well.
This draft talent is quite good and even till pick 20 or so. So pick 14 should be worth more. But MM can't keep waiting for the perfect trade and so took the best on offer so everyone can use the weekend to digest that pick 14 is not in our hands.
Time heals and Eagles will come to the party, their fans may throw the toys out of cot till Barass deal gets done. ATM they feel entitled to both our F1 & F2 and want more to be added, we just have to give it time and Barass can be done as last gasp trade too now, we can focus on others.
No they didn’t Pies most likely but it’s their backup plan in case that doesn’t work. Carlton love this draft they have openly said they wanted another first rounder. They may even trade up to 2/3.Carlton purely did that trade as they needed a second 1st round pick to meet Port's demands for Dan Houston.

I reckon they’ll hedge and take one of each.Be interesting to see whether the Eagles think our future first or Carlton's future first is of more value.
The decision will likely be passed on to Richmond, since the future picks will be used for bakerBe interesting to see whether the Eagles think our future first or Carlton's future first is of more value.
West Coast are idiots. They are the ones rebuilding, they should be taking pick 15 in this deep draft. Who cares about Baker if they are doing a 5 year rebuild.

Seems reasonable
The Western Bulldogs want a pick inside the top 10 of November’s super draft from Geelong in exchange for Bailey Smith.
We r not walking away the deal is done.Hope we are considering walking away from Barass. 2 future 1st and 2 future 2’s gives us the flexibility to do anything next year. We may even get a great offer for 33 on draft night from a bottom 4 team for another second and third in 2025.
We have heaps of cap space and amazing young talent. Sam Mitchell talked about doing the opposite of the rest of the league. The rest of the league is trying to get into this draft at the expense of next year. Maybe we need to show some patience to set us up for a massive run.

He’s a jet with 10 years ahead. Yes he’s coming off an ACL, but there’s no reason he can’t get back to his best, particularly if he’s playing as a pure mid.
