It’s a really sad time of year I think. Saying goodbye to players we all at some stage had so much faith and hope in. Most of their afl dreams done and dusted. One or two may be lucky enough to get the second or third chance.
At least they spent time on a list. Have to be happy and proud of that.

Would not be likely to see any of the four on another AFL list.

I’d say there will be another 2-3 more delisting. Seb and Paton might be nervous. Membrey and Hayes could be traded for 4th rounders.

Saints farewell four following list changes

St Kilda Football Club has informed Tom Campbell, Riley Bonner, Matthew Allison and James Van Es they will not be offered contracts for the 2025 season.

Brutal exit interviews. They must have some plans for our ruck and defenders as that was a suprise.

Can't believe he's lasted this long on a list. Very clear early on in his career that he simply wasn't up to it. Coasted on his "Pick 2" status for years, not because of him so much, but due to other clubs delusions and being blinded by their own headlights.
He might go okay in the country leagues.

Old fashioned full forward lead into space and a nice kick for goal. Absolutely nothing else to his game, he’s not strong overhead for a man of that size and he was tried in defence.

Man, thought Van Es was a prospect early on, showed a bit of mongrel in the VFL. That sucks. Tom Campbell will probably get picked up by another club for a year or 2 of ruck depth. Guys a world beater in the 2's.

Tom Campbell will not get picked up by another AFL club.

Yes but I think inside the top 10 and especially top 5 its a bit different. Those players are who the game plan is built around.

Bonner surprisingly stiff, copped it from the fans but did more good than bad.

I guess he would only keep Ari & Hastie out of the side so don't mind it.

InB4 we take a small back flanker with our first, but he might roll through the mids.

Harsh on JVE but l guess they think his ankle must be stuffed, otherwise l can't see any logic in it.
The rest is pretty standard but you'd hope a replacement ruckman is already on the way.

Absolutely stunned by JVE being delisted. Saw him twice in the VFL and he looked like there was a tonne to work with. Huge, aggressive, athletic. As suggested, the ankle must be absolutely stuffed.

I don't have any issue with any of those delistings but I'd imagine there's more significant decisions to come that might cause a melt or two. Of the lesser lights Hayes is one I'd like us to give one more year to.

I get a feeling that JVE's last ankle surgery was to stabilize it for general life.. not for elite sports. Probably a forced retirement really. Feel for the kid.

I think those 4 are the ones with zero possible trade value or progression.
I wouldn't expect Hayes survives but we may be able to get a 4th round pick for him
