Could have said the same about cox too thoI dont see the competitiveness and dont think he'll ever excel in that role, might be personal bias though

Yeah but I'd say his competitiveness can be an issue, it's just he can read the game really really well and has a lot of time with the ball in hand for a big guy. I'm not sure Draper has that (at least not as well as Cox) and is now competing Murphy and Davies for a similar spot. I think with all of Davies, Murphy and McDonald at Peel, and the lack of run we have, they'll play him in that 3rd tall role to developCould have said the same about cox too tho
Yeah so both are by all purposes effectively delisted (shouldnt have any problem reaching that 7 player turnover this year Dockeroo, we're already at 2).Bell confirmed kuek and Corbett aren't going to take the field this year in the presser today
Shoulder and knee seems like an unlucky combo for Kuek, hard to see him coming back from this tbh
Ruthless would have been cutting him last year but replacing his list spot has the same outcome I guess
I think this is best read with a borderline-racist Mexican accent.I will have to hand my title as president of the Ethan Stanley over to Paracleet and hang my head in shame
(I have updated)
The new President and my Cabinet might have something to say about that..I think this is best read with a borderline-racist Mexican accent.
No, amigo, I am President of the Ethan Stanley.
Did they elaborate on Corbett? Seems strange that they're not fixing whatever it is that needs fixing yet (based on him running today).Bell confirmed kuek and Corbett aren't going to take the field this year in the presser today

Yeah they said he's "scheduled to undergo surgery tomorrow"Did they elaborate on Corbett? Seems strange that they're not fixing whatever it is that needs fixing yet (based on him running today).
Surgery later this week is what I either heard in the interview or read somewhereDid they elaborate on Corbett? Seems strange that they're not fixing whatever it is that needs fixing yet (based on him running today).
The stats don’t lie over time.Yeah so both are by all purposes effectively delisted (shouldnt have any problem reaching that 7 player turnover this year Dockeroo, we're already at 2).
Surgery tomorrow.Surgery later this week is what I either heard in the interview or read somewhere
Bell mentioned in the press conference he did today that Fyfe was 100% healthy and was able to do fitness work over the break for the first time in a fair while.Has Fyfes foot injury been fixed or is it still being managed?
Of the 4, what is the maximum number we could potentially add to our list?Van Rooyen starts Wed along with the others. Freo have submitted their approval for both Corbett (from tomorrow) and Kuek to be placed on LTI. Opens up 4 training spots. I’m interested to see who fulfils the fourth training spot.
2Of the 4, what is the maximum number we could potentially add to our list?
Can't wait to see him in a few intra's. Same with van royan. Not many 193cm 20 year olds are keeping nearly 50 goals in the VFL. I'm surprised Voss hasnt been offered an SSP spot somewhere already, wonder what the reservations are
Good post. The stats don’t lie over time.
My point has always been that it’s normal to have 7-8 players per year moving on for what ever reason and the same number coming in.
It’s basic maths - there is about 770 listed players in the league and close to 100 are recruited each year between rookie lists, national draft and pre season draft. So the same number have to leave.
Another way of putting it is this - in exactly 4 years time in 2027, around 40% of the players that will be listed in the entire AFL on that date are currently between the ages of 13-17.
Around half of the players on the freo list right now will not be on the list on the 29th November 2027.
I’m a fan of this years approach to churn though a few late picks and rookies like we did. Most won’t make it obviously but one or two might. Trial these long shot guys in the preseason supplemental period and try find some gold.
As the saying goes - You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
There is approx 12 players that are the core of the list and should be here for the next decade if all goes well, and around the fringes of that you have your rookies etc. Same as every other club.
Dunno why there's a question mark next to Frederick tbh. He's already AFL standard and easily.Good post.
I'll have a crack at the 12
Amiss
Jackson
Brayshaw
Serong
Young
Darcy
Cox
Clark
Johnson
Walker?
Frederick?
Chapman?
Davies??
I suspect clubs have nuanced statistics regarding late picks. For example they might know the probability of younger/older draftee success rates, players in need of lengthy development compared to nearer their ceiling, there may be starts looking at success by position, country versus city may be a factor. The stats don’t lie over time.

I think you've hit the nail on the head here.Dunno why there's a question mark next to Frederick tbh. He's already AFL standard and easily.
Remove the question mark from Chapman unless he doesn't get fit consistently.
Erasmus is one you've missed from the question marks. We probably need Treacy to be genuinely amongst this group or to bring in McDonald to be successful imo.
It's a good group when you add a few slightly older guys and slightly younger guys imo.
The 'here for the next decade' is Dockeroo's criteria I don't understand. It would rule Cox out of your list for example, and possibly Darcy. It may contain Sturt and Delean for all we know at this stage of their careers given our needs.Good post.
