If we're doing purely hypothetical but slightly plausible trades, I'd also mention Jones and Pedlar. Plus there's some chance Borlase and Berry might be looking for more minutes.
Borlase might be looking for more minutes but I seriously doubt he'd get anymore opportunities elsewhere hence I can't say I see the sense in recontracting him especially for more than the obligatory 1 year. He's depth no matter where he goes at AFL level.

No way do we trade quality young players like Rachele or Worrell. No issue with fringe player like Berry or Schoenberg looking for more opportunities now we have some quality ins

Tex deserves to be a 1 club player & going nowhere.

We aren't likely to push Laird out, but we should seriously be considering it. Pay his salary & get a decent pick.
Agree trading berry (still), schoenberg, laird would be smart

I just cant believe we are going into this draft with two list spots. It makes no sense.

Blah blah blah, why did i read that? Told me absolutely nothing.
I haven't read it but it's membership renewal time so even the shittiest clubs will be putting on the fake smiles and trying to convince people to hand over their $$.

As I said in my 1st post, we are not a club that forces out players but we should consider it with Laird.

He still has value for other clubs but we would need to pay part/all his salary to make it worth their while.
Agree other teams don't see him the way we do they just look at stats. We should be trading him and one of schoey and berry. Whatever we can get to get the list spot back.

Why?
We've already added 2 significant players in Peatling and ANB at the cost of draft capital, Isaac Cumming via free agency, pick 4 to beused on a high end talent and Tyler Welsh again who will cost some draft capital and then there's availability of list spots.

because as you been saying for well over a year we need two spots more
1) mature backup ruck cos strachan cant do it
2) a development ruck - dodson or your perry i don't care who

this is a massive list exposure. how can the board not say to list management weve got a massive risk in ruck what are you doing adam kelly and reid

We're not going to chase a mature-age ruck this season with Strachan still contracted and Toby Murray a capable chop out ruck if required.

We just don't have the draft capital to get Dodson unless you know some magic.

Flynn Penry might slip through and be attainable for a try before you buy now the SANFL have relaxed the rules somewhat, if not Penry there will likely be other options that go undrafted like Aiden Riddle, Jordan Docherty and Lucas Impey for example.

Would have been nice if the interviewer asked what changed last year to this year for Nicks to go from a "coach who should have been playing finals" to "a coach who failed because he was being stretched too thin" even though he had the same resources both years.

strachan should have been chopped lets face it. his payout is so minimal. if we could get a decent second for laird i would do it. i know you like berry personally I would cut him free but fine to keep if laird and strachan or strachan and schoey cut. why not load up again at this deep draft. schoey and strachan arent getting a game next year and despite others laughing I dont see berry getting many either.

Very few contracted players get cut by clubs unless they have off field issues, you're dreaming if you think Laird was any chance of getting cut.

im sure you right im saying what i would do not what i think they will do. we need to be ruthless or we never winning anything again and not sure about you but i cant wait another 26 years.

O'Brien, Strachan, Thilthorpe, T Murray.
So we have four on our list that we can use in ruck. Two at SANFL as the back ups and two in AFL.

If we are hoping for T. Murray to be our break glass ruck, then we need to give him some serious minutes in the middle next SANFL season.

gimme a break strachan doesn't even have a half of an afl game in him competitively and t murray has not even rucked much an sanfl

its shallow very shallow

Yes it is. But how many ruck types can you have on a list when you only play one. You end up with 4 playing in the SANFL and they get played in other spots.

you delist strachan and get someone else mature: eg ramsden, reeve, knobel, reidy that wont cost much. you delist burgess who is a second string nothing and draft a developing even if its mutis penry if cant get the pick for dodson.

short term plan
long term plan

who they're replacing are still playing sanfl anyway!!!!!

Settle down, Max Knobel is only 20 that's hardly mature-age and is yet to play an AFL game,I seriously doubt he's ready to go AFL round 1 2025?

Now that Jack Lukosius (Jack Watts II) has decided on Port. The role we mapped out for him could be given to Brayden Cook as the Tom Lynch connector role in the SANFL. A 189 cm forward.

Does he have the tank for that role, Tom Lynch had exceptional endurance?

I think Laird will be top 5 at the B&F. Maybe even top 3.
Think the BnF votes show Laird’s value atm.
From @bigman’s first pre season report he has been “angry” and reckon he was told early of structure change.
Trade if at all possible and play the kids imo.
