Take Brisbanes picks out for matching and the Bombers and GC picks move up and have more points, they match Ashcroft and 7&8 become 8&9. It’s all subject to change. It’s more for the shits and giggles, but it does neither of them any favors. Especially if you have the player in question at your pick.

Pardon my ignorance: how many picks are able to be selected tonight knowing Collingwood will be (sadly) conspicuous by its absence. I usually love this time of year as selections bring hope. I know we’ve recruited very well with Houston, Membrey and Perryman but I do like the anticipation of hope of who we might pick up. Given Collingwood is not featuring tonight it makes it a bit less meaningful. Having said that let me say this…..sorry thought I was a politician for a moment 😉
Having said that I’m looking forward to who we might draft and hope they add to our team (they’ll certainly lower the average age so any future recruit starts well).

I find it hard to see a likely scenario where it would help Saints.

I'd like clubs to bid honestly without factoring anything else in, but bloody unlikely.

There's often an advantage in not bidding.
Tiges marketing department want their boy to go pick 1 - and there will be no gain for them in more Brisbane picks getting wiped out - it'll just benefit other clubs.
North are very likely to offer their F2 for Brisbane's 27, so wouldn't be interested in bidding. And even if they don't do that, tactically for them moving 62 up is about the number of picks used - they'd probably be better off with a later pick for Ashcroft and Brisbane matching with more junk picks than them being forced to use decent picks to match. Etc...

First round only tonight, I don’t like the split draft nights either although understand why they do it. Seems crazy to exclude clubs and also make draftees sit through two nights waiting.
Think you could knock out the draft in one night, just do the interviews with the draftees Picture in Picture while it’s all going on. Start at 6pm. Only the full nuffs watch this, so they’ll tune in early.

Makes it really clear that we really benefit on a bid for Kako earlier than ESPN predicts - need their picks in the 40's and 50's to be used up in the bid.
