my top 10
langford and tauru interchangeable at the dees and saints picks imo

saints take a player then bid on 2 academy boys before splitting or trading their next pick
so if we got hold of saints second pick I'd be taking Shanahan at 11

saints i think could be a chance to take travaglia over tauru if the below unfolds so that could also mean tauru to us instead of shanahan

1. Richmond - Sam Lalor
2. Brisbane - Levi Ashcroft
3. North Melbourne - Finn O'Sullivan
4. Carlton - Jagga Smith
5. Adelaide - Sid Draper
6. Melbourne - Harvey Langford
7. Richmond - Josh Smillie
8. St Kilda - Alix Tauru
9. Essendon - Isaac Kako
10. Gold Coast - Leonardo Lombard

I can only really see Richmond as the team to bite on our F1.
Others will want to hold their picks in this draft.
GWS maybe an option, but I think they use their picks.
The question is what will Richmond take for our F1?
Obviously it will all depend on who is still on the board, who we want & who Richmond want/have already drafted.
If Tigs get 3 guys they wanted with 1,6 & 10 & think their next guy might still be there at 18, then 11 is the most likely swap for me.
Also wouldn’t be surprised if we done it for 18 & 23/24 if players we want are still on the board

Weirdly enough i have heard him compared to Bont before, quite a while ago.....there must be something in it.
Let's f*n do it!!!

It’s their frame and the way they move, plus the completeness to their games that is similar. Mix of silk and toughness.

No clear weaknesses in the general sense. Skills are a plus, athleticism a plus, marking a plus, tackling at least average. But similar to Bont there wasn’t that consistency in output in the draft year, also not elite at the coalface.

The question is - is Bont as effective without his height? Probably not. He probably doesn’t become such a contest beast without it.

Either way you take a shorter Bont any day.

Which means nothing if there's a major talent gap.

1 year of an 18 year old Josh Gibcus wouldn't have made up for Harry Sheezel, would it?

There's a point we absolutely should not trade that pick, it's around Pick 10 as a single pick and no less than 2 picks in the top 20.
Melbourne’s 9 is probably the most lose-lose situation for both clubs so would be the most balanced trade.

i think the highest available pick for our f1 will be saints pick 8
but their preference is to split in this draft, if they can't then we become a serious option with our f1

after that its tigers 10/11

and if that all fails just trade in our f2 grab a kpf
I know it’s a steep price but if Tauru is there at Dees second would F1+F2 be too steep?

way too steep

F1 for saints pick 8
or dees pick 9
or tigs pick 10/11

otherwise hold and trade in f2 for a second round kpf

I don't think we'll see any club getting that sort of value for their future firsts in this draft. Clubs are just gaga about this year's first round and we've seen a trend that clubs are very happy to knock back future picks when they've got someone they like in their sights, like when Adelaide refused what turned out to be pick 3 this year from West Coast when Curtin was available.

I agree tiges will be the only ones trading picks out of the first round. No chance it’s pick 6, small chance it’s 10 or 11.

I don’t think we will get value for our f1 if we do trade it.

Probably repeating myself or others but trading our F1 would only happen during the draft. For example - Melb not thrilled about who is on the board at 9, we are = trade happens.
Agreed, and that point might be at Saints pick 8.

There'll be less variables and they'll know if their guy will still be there at pick 11. Richmond will have a better idea of who will be there at 10 & 11. We'll know if Tauru is still there.

That's where a swap based around 11, 8 and our F1 (with other sweeteners) might make more sense with a bit more certainty.

8 to north
F1 to gws
X2 picks to saints

Thoughts? Obviously can't t remember what gws have

90% chance we are giving up a top 4 pick for pick 11. Makes me feel sick.
Pick 4 next year might be pick 8-ish by the sounds of things, with all of the academy players. Then if you add the interest of getting it 12 months early then it's not too bad.

But if we give up a top 2 pick them that would hurt a bit more
