So Will mentions that FOS is a low possession, high impact player. Given that Wardlaw seems to be shaping that way, I don't want two of those.

I know I am going to be in the minority, but I don't want two of these types
I think they're two completely different players. Wardlaw the hard in and under who will see his possessions increase as he plays more game time.

FOS will be an efficient mid/winger with high defensive intensity. Capable at the ground and in a contest but not built (yet) as a hard in and under.

Appreciate all of your responses. Unlike many of you, I don't see FOS being a top 5 player in this draft. Hope I'm wrong!
I feel the same for the most part. Although I do think he’s a top fiver in this draft, I just don’t think he’s a huge need. Draft the best available as they say, which I’m not 100% convinced of either tbh but I’ll back the club in whatever path they take. Not like they’ve ever got one wrong before… 😉

The thing I don’t get is after the draft is done n dusted, no info comes out of who the clubs wanted the most.
It’s like it’s erased from their memory
And so it should be, no point having a player on the list knowing they weren't our first preference.

And no point them spending the next 10 years wishing they had [insert player name] on our list, that lamenting "what if?" is reserved purely for Big Footy.

He averaged over 21 touches a game after the bye, including a patch before the concussions of almost 24 touches a game. In that month he cracked the top 15 players in the league in their rolling 4 week rankings.

The 21 touches a game was only just behind Ashcroft.

The top possession getters per game for u/21's in the league:

1. Sheezel
2. McKercher
3. Ashcroft
4. Wardlaw
5. H.Reid
6. R.Sanders

I don't think we have anything to worry about....

Wardlaw by far the lowest TOG also.
These are good stats, appreciate it.
He’s gonna be immense!

I don't really like the idea of FOS. Seems very vanilla, and we have Powell and Phillips already being that. Granted, I have fairly poor judgment when it comes to this sort of thing, so maybe the FOS fans can rejoice at this comment

He's very much not. He's the opposite.

People will think that as he didn't have too many jaw dropping highlight this year.

But he's a mecurial, athletic, wingman, that can take high marks, has great skills, electric lateral movement at times and deceptively quick.

He's the opposite of vanilla. He might look like Ryan Bastinac or something at the moment, but he's not. He's more like Zane Duursma but a permanent midfield version with better wheels, tank and agility but not quite the ridiculous overhead ability of Zane. Obviously not the forward craft either.

I've wanted us to grab him for most of this year, as I've stated more than a few times he's absolutely perfect to compliment what we have in the middle.

McKercher and FOS have been excellent luck in a way, you don't get mids with that sort of outside ability at the very top too often given how many center square mids we have drafted.

He ain’t vanilla!!! His speed, lateral movement, high marking… aggression sets him apart. He is a right footed Wayne Schwass from virtually the same home town.
Plus he kicks goals, lots of goals.

We have recruited two players in two drafts recently that have found the ball more than any other in their rookie years.

George had multiple 25+ possession games last year.

I think we will be ok bringing Finn in.

I shouldn't have said anything about Sheez. They've got some similar attributes (IQ, decision making, pros) and you've all taken it and ran with "Chubbs thinks he's as good as Sheezel". I don't think he's as good as Sheezel.
Jagga will be a mighty fine player. I think a few others will be better and suit us better. End of story.
Like you say your comments have been taken way out of contents. Keep up the good posts. I totally get what you meant.

He has similar athletic numbers to Wardlaw, right? George has been described as one of the most freakishly athletic players to be recently drafted.

I'll give you lateral movement but to my eyes he seems slow, like quite slow, in his highlights. Like he's carrying around a barrel on his shoulders. Can see him being caught htb over and over again. I'm obviously in the minority here though so

Geez Chubbs, you had to put the Kevlar on for that Jagga comment eh?..

FWIW I knew exactly what you were alluding to when you first said it, but I gotta admit.. watching the air raid coming in thick and fast and watching you defending gave me a chuckle lol.

Good work soldier! :)
You got in before i realized so i didn't have to send my post. Good job Shermanator.

Not quite as freakish, but George is a cyborg in the power stakes.

20m: 3.046
Vertical: 90cm
Agility: 8.117
Yo-yo: 1000

That's better endurance than McKercher, a vertical as good as Duursma, elite agility and decent enough speed.

Too late Chubbs. You are now forever a sheezel hater.
