So it is a superdraft

It’s a draft that goes pretty deep with players of different sizes and capabilities who look like they should be good, which is not the same thing. It’s looking like a nice draft to have a number of picks across the first couple of rounds, for sure. Wish we did, but no club is going to get that every year and we’ve had a pretty good run.

In the end, anyone who calls a superdraft before having a chance to see how the draftees actually turn out over a number of years is a chump. I’ve lost count of how many were hailed in advance and turned out not to be very super at all.

Just Like Harley Reid last year was a "Generational Talent"

Was Reid's first year the equal of Daicos or Sheezal? No. Will he end up better than all of the top picks over the last 5 or 6 years? Who knows? But he would need to be if he is going to be a "Generational Talent".

And yet, Harley Reid would once again be the undisputed Number 1 pick in this years draft. Like some have already mentioned, Colby McKercher would go #1 as well.

Superdraft and Deep Draft full of a great mix role players are two very different things.

And the other thing is, 12 months ago, all those so-called experts were calling this draft a weak draft compared to last.

You've been sucked in by your biases. We won't be.

Sheezel kicked 50 goals and averaged like 30 touches when he played mid in his draft year and he was the third best prospect that year lol. No one comes close this year

The amount of posters that suddenly become draft experts come this time of the year is amazing. Not only do they have an excellent grasp on each of the prospects, as well as the quality and depth of the class, but they're all list management experts of every single team in the competition and know what everyone else should do.

My favourites are posters who follow other teams telling us what we should do for our own good.

I genuinely find it funny, and I probably shouldn't do this, but I encourage it.

I really wish it was a super draft to the level of previous drafts, we'd be absolutely set.

Super draft to me is probably more 2018 when your top 15 is potentially full of a big number of All Australian level talents.
Walsh, Lukosius, Rankine, Max King, Connor Rozee, Ben King, Bailey Smith, Tarryn Thomas, Chayce Jones, Blakey, Butters, Quaynor. That's a pretty strong top 13 in hindsight in terms of talent, some better careers so far than others.

This year the top 6 is probably B+/A- level, but we won't know for years.
But Reid vs Lalor, McKercher vs FOS etc. There's a bit of a difference just at face value.
I think you'll likely get a better long term AFL prospect in the 10-30 range as Thursfield said, so it's deeper.
Not sure deeper draft equates to super draft, to me that's a draft stacked with AA level talents.

The mock drafts having us taking Tauru because we "have enough mids" and the trade articles from Ralphy and co. are mostly to blame. I like Tauru, just more picks 5-15 if we get something else good out of it.

This reminds me of 2016 - no standout so you end up a McGrath at 1 (lalor)

Taranto (Draper), McClug (FOS), & SPS (Smith) going as elite mids

Logue the best key top 10 defender. (Tauru)
Scrimshaw the half back flanker (Traviglia)

Then the amazing depth - with the injured Simpkin (Hotten) outside the top 10, the bolter in Florent (Armstrong), the late key 1st round key forward Todd Marshall (Whitlock).

When you win back to back spoons I look forward to the 2025 super superdraft!!!

Yep - 2018 was meant to be the big superdraft and that is dropping away very quickly - very little outside the early teen picks - lead by the super slider Riley Collier Dawkins.

North are willing to pass on next years draft because they would be eyeing off the next phase out of a rebuild. Mature talent/FA. You cant build premierships from the draft, you definitely pick your premiership superstars from a draft.. LDU, sheezel, wardlaw, Kerch, Duursma and co.. a plethora of superstar talent.

Tyler Welsh was a top 5 pick
Phoenix Hargrave top 10
Camporeale's 1st rounders

Lalor - mid 2nd round
Bo Allen & Murphey Reid - picks in the mid 30's
H Langford in the 40's
Trainor in the 40's

In fairness to Big Cam , we are still in talks with Crows to slide back, apparently......lots would still be being discussed.

Tigers have always thought they've held all the sway in North moving....cant blame them with the circle suck from the media(Richmond Numpties) talking the up the whole time and doing their bidding for them.

I prefer our way.....say not much and see what happens

I want North to be successful for all the obvious reasons; playing finals, winning Premierships, increased members & attendances, year on year profit, 11 home games in Melbourne etc. But the main reason I want us to win a Premiership is because no opposition poster is going to come in here and tell us what to do with pick 18. Can they just f*ck off.
