GC really gonna pay a million a year plus for Rioli?

He's contracted, has to be a trade

Only way they get 2 is via us. Some thing like pick 2 to GC for 6, 13 and Rosas. Pick 2 from GC to Richmond for Rioli and a pick around 10.

Yep we could bring in Day (cheap, medical?) or Darling (not as keen) for now for 2 years and hit the draft for a few.
Give the kids we draft a few years to build their bodies. Cycle them in for a few AFL games against certain teams.

Just watched Jack Whitlock’s highlights, Coates Talent League- Wild Card Round and he was absolutely amazing.
24 disposals
6 clearances and 1 goal.
He is a unit and should climb to that pick 8-12 spot. If we can somehow get him that would be perfect because I really like his aggression as a tall man who can play that Tall Forward, Tall Back and Spare Ruck

There'd be 20+ from metro and country alone. That champs final was one of the best quality 18s game I've seen. Kids stepping up all over the ground, W.A and S.A kids flying under the radar. Can't see any way we can split 2, unless we can trick gold coast.

If we don't dominat in the midfield, key forwards won't do jack.

Even carey is very much dependant on the mids that constantly wins the ball and get it forward.

His 2nd half in the Champs game was bloody good, too. Was clunking them from everywhere.

There's not much of an alternative unfortunately. There isn't really any quality key position players on the market for us to trade for or get in FA this year that would want to join. We've added league players in Pink, Teakle and Maley.

Some drafted can come on quick. Sam Darcy is looking pretty good in year 3 for a young key position prospect.

Then 2025 is the time to get the ball movement, forward pressure right.

I don't know about you, but I like to give top 5 picks a few years to develop and show their wares before adding top 2 picks because they aren't dominating in their first 50 games...

That's why we've signed pretty much 100% of the list to get continuity with their experience instead of looking to get in other players to shortcut.

The only club we will dangle pick 2 for a split is Richmond - If Toce gets what he wants for Baker, Bolton and Rioli they will hold the picks that could satisfy us to split 2.

What picks would we need to get both the Whitlock guys? l wouldn't mind trying to get them by splitting our Pick#2 and then use our pick#20 on Jack and then maybe offer our F2 to see if we could get his brother...
