Agreed but I wonder if someone will ask for an upgrade. Moir or Elijah would be most likely to request imo. But I’d rather they keep their currents numbers.
It's a good point. Any upgrades will sorted before the draft and someone might ask for it. Lord another option.

I doubt Elijah changes. 20 was his number as a junior and with Moir it would be a slap in the face to Kouta who seems to have taken a real interest in him.

My gut feel is Austin (The club) have wanted Fos from the start and the reason we went so had for 3 and tbh looks highly likely it will happen giving the club would most likely know Richmond and Norths preferences with 1 and 2
If north do go early on Tauru then there are going to be some really decent sliders
wake me up when its over 😴

On October 12, Yazz broke the news in the rumour file that we were getting pick #3. It was the first any of us had heard of the possibility. The post ended up being pretty much spot on.

Yazz also said the recruiting department was torn between Lalor and O’Sullivan. They felt the one we missed out on would go at pick #1.

If we take the view which seems firmly held that it is Lalor at pick #1 for Richmond, then I think Yazz has told us it is FOS at #3. Unless North drops in first, but they need their KPP.

Ps speculate away. After all, that’s what this site is for. I just think the answer has already been given to you.
I hope its the right decision and doesn't back fire on Austin

Hope you're right and we end up with something like this:

7. Smith
16. B. Camporeale
21. L. Camporeale
22. Cumberland
26. O'Farrell
28. Haynes
32. Duffy
38. McMahon
44. Phillips

Agree that we got caught out in different stages in the last few years, particularly in patches when we only went with 4 mids and limited rotations.

We need to get 5-6 players rotating through the midfield. Cripps, Walsh and Cerra as out FT mids. You then add 2-3 dual position players such as fwd/ mids that can pinch hit midfield, run both ways and hit the scoreboard. At the moment we really only have E. Hollands.

Was actually excited with picks 12 and 14. The likes of Berry, Haniford, Lindsay may have give us that. I haven’t completely lost faith in Durdin and Motlop to be able to play those roles, but they haven’t put it together at this stage.

At pick 3 Lalor or FOS can do the fwd/mid role. Both players likely be gone.

So I think we are drafting for best available with Smith, Langford, Draper as FT mids. They may have the game to play those roles short term but ultimately they are LT replacements for Cripps, Cerra.

Pick 3 is great but it has taken a bit to get over not having picks 12 and 14. A period of mourning was required.

You want a butcher? Dont we have enough of those?
Adam Treloar was an All Aus and his main attribute is pace. Draper also is a great pressure mid.

Think one thing worse than our kicking inside 50 is pressure on ball, he fixes that a lot.

Joking aside I think one of FOS Jagga Draper is a win for the club. Expect them to all play 250+ and be top 6-7 players at whatever club they are at, possibly even top 3 for them all too

is fos the type we need
He is exactly what we need! Will Langford end up being the best player in this draft? Lalor? Jagga? It really does not matter. We desperately need a FOS type. It seems like you either love/rate or hate/dont rate him on here. But regardless of who you this is going to be the best player on reflection in 10 years is not the question."is fos the type we need"? His type is the exact profile our midfield/forward line lacks

Concerns with Drapers kicking are way overblown. He is far from a butcher. Yeah, it's not his biggest strength but we are not talking Dow or Andy Carrazzo level disposal skills. He's probably a 7 out of 10 while a guy like Jagga is an 8. Just needs to steady more when kicking the ball at full pace. If you watch his highlights, he pulls off some exceptional kicks.

And I'm not team Draper by the way. Just think some are exaggerating strengths and weaknesses of these potential draftees to suit an argument. In reality there's not much between them and if those weaknesses were as big as made out, they wouldn't be in contention for top 5.

Freo had a great midfield with Serong and Brayshaw. But it lacked something. Pushing Young into that midfield has now made it one of the most dynamic and damaging midfields in the comp. It will take them deep in 2025. Is Young the best midfielder in the comp? Is he the best at Freo? No. But what his "type" has done has weaponised that mix. FOS can be our Young. Work for 12 months under Walsh, Cripps and Charlie and watch this kid explode

I’m sure you don’t need reminding, but ironically enough SOS did his best to upgrade on draft night specifically to take Young.

Got to say Im impressed with the certainty of people “statements”, given it’s all actually a guess.
I would have thought you would be using your crystal ball for tonight’s Tatts numbers instead of draft picks given you’re so sure u can see the future.
I feel like your making a general statement that implicates everyones posts on here? I thought that is what this forum is all about. Saying who we like and dont like. Many back it up with sound stats, history, logic etc. Some may be a little over passionate at times, but we love the club and want whats best. But at least we have the courage to put our views forward for debate. Was their specific posts you didnt agree with? Why? Who is your powerball in this draft?

No, wasn’t a general statement.
But there’s been quite a few opinions stated as facts.
They are all kids, it’s a guess, all for discussion on the perceived strengths and weakness & where they should be drafted & what they could end up being, just pointing out the veracity of conviction is still just based on a guess.
