Newton is intriguing, also, that mark..Hannaford, have seen very little forward, a little behind the ball where very effective. Now moved forward and hitting the scoreboard. Figures prominently on agility figures published above. Well built “six-footer” shapes as a very good pick up and multi dimensional.
When looking at “budget” small forward options do not dismiss SA lad Jacob Newton. Slightly quicker and better skilled, left footed version of Fog who can play mid or forward. Sub 180cm (just) so likely forward at higher level. Not much press so probably a rookie at this stage.
This draft has plenty of “layers”, expect heaps of value picks to emerge.
Your thoughts on Ollie Hannaford ? moving up the draft boards with a bullet.
Would still love us to find a way to trade up for 2 of Berry, Hotton, Travaglia, LindsayJust watched hannafords highlights as a result of him being mentioned.
What a little goer. Got some real power for his size. Wouldn’t surprise if went in second round. Carlton should keep an eye on him.
Surprised by taj hottons 20m sprint of 2.88sec. That is basically elite.

Berry is extremely good defensively for a small forward, Travaglia positions well as a defender to intercept etc, Gross a very good up and back runner. For those following the draft.. are there any players that excel off the ball with their patterns and workrate?

Feel like they all fit our list needs to a tee.
Dattoli looks a good player but would be disappointed in his selection in terms of list fit

I’ll take a look at Gross, where abouts is his range?Berry is extremely good defensively for a small forward, Travaglia positions well as a defender to intercept etc, Gross a very good up and back runner.
Tbh Ben Campo would be one of the absolute best in class given his ability to accumulate and lay tackles/pressure defensively. Said for quite a while if he was more potent offensively he'd be a top 10-15 prospect such is the rest of his game.
Sure there's others but always a bit hard in the 18s given the openness and one way running sort of play that's prominent.

To me Dattoli looks a good player, but he's more strong than he is nimble. Imo he ends up on ball as he's got really great hands in tight and takes tacklers on by instinct but imo not the type of player we need.Regarding dattoli you should read Dylan Moore s old draft profile on rookie me central. It does read like has was a small midfielder with a good contested game that could go forward.

DRAFT ANALYSIS: "Inside midfielder who can push forward and hit the scoreboard and run hard all day"central.rookieme.com
It actually reads like it could be dattoli. There is one key element though. Moore was an elite endurance runner. This is why lm interested to see the endurance results for the likes of dattoli and gross. Can they play a role like Dylan Moore?

Looks good but he seems more of a mid than a forward to be honest. Could be a sleeper pick as a midfield option.15-30
Hard to tell of the tv and video, but from what I've seen Datolli fits the bill playing high half forward and wing for Vic metro and on ball for the knightsFor those following the draft.. are there any players that excel off the ball with their patterns and workrate?

I want kick-first outside players who can avoid contact and get loose through agility and speed. We already excel at the contested game, adding another nuggety beast is not going to help balance out our list.
Bobby Hill or Isaac Smith would be the first that spring to mind in terms of what I think our list needs
Dattoli just seems a very Voss style pick.
As a skinny 18 year old, I wouldn't be expecting Hotton to have an instant impact regardless of the ACL.Took him a couple years to get his power and change of direction back though which is more my point.
I will have egg on my face no doubt, but I am not the biggest fan of Gross, I think his decision making skills and kicking ability is an issue.I’ll take a look at Gross, where abouts is his range?
Yeah, he's hard working but don't love the rest of his game. Don't think he'd be a great fit for usI will have egg on my face no doubt, but I am not the biggest fan of Gross, I think his decision making skills and kicking ability is an issue.
Then again, I was concerned with Serong back in the day and I feel really stupid about that now.

In that camp too…I'm with you on Gross LM.... I'd be looking elsewhere for us
Marshall is Bris academy1 Richmond
2 North Melbourne
3 West Coast
4 Adelaide
5 Melbourne
6 Gold Coast
7 St Kilda
8 Essendon
9 Fremantle
10 Fremantle (tied to Collingwood)
I will not write where each name will 100% go.
Jagga Smith
Ashcroft
FOS
Smillie
Draper
Trainor
Lalor
Lombard
Reid
Langford
-------------------
These ten names are most likely gone by the time we pick. Plus two more names
11 Carlton - Lindsay, Travaglia, Berry, Marshall
Those are some names that tick a few boxes, kicking skills and speed on many of them.
I would love a Lombard > Draper > Reid > Lalor > and even maybe Langford if they drifted in the draft.
(Yes, I know Lombard is linked and we will not get our hands on him)
I might even consider over paying a future first and second in return for a future third or something to get my hands on two of those players.
Interesting one. Talk is they will be forced in to deficit if Ashcroft is bid in first couple, leaving little or nothing for Marshall. They have Daniel Annable next year who will be at the pointy end, so will not want to use F1. Interesting times for the Lions.Marshall is Bris academy
I see Melbourne going early on Armstrong at 5 or even bombers at 8 both need a key forward. So there will be a slider for sure.1 Richmond
