O'Farrell still available at 38 too (and no bid on Ben beforehand).
I think I have an unhealthy obsession for Lalor to get to us. :grinv1:

Like WalshistheGOAT and Berry

You’d hope at pick 38 one or more of Ough, Barret, O’Farrell, Whitlock’s, Mraz, Gerreyn would be available

Smith maybe an accumulator but from the vision I have seen he also finds space frequently when he gains the football.
To me that is an extractor.

He may not have the burst that Draper has or the size that Lalor / Langford have but he displays a more mature outlook than FOS ever will. From his interviews he presents as someone professional in his approach to his football.

I can’t understand why any of the first 3 picks don’t pick Ashcroft and keep bris honest they’d do it to Carlton in a heart beat
Brissy and Tigers would have had a handshake agreement when Tigers landed pick 20. So if they get pick 2 I think it still stands. Plus I think you want to tell Lalor "you're the man" (or whoever they go with at #1), rather than "We rate Ashcroft as better than you, but hey... you're still pretty good! Welcome". Plus that stupid $10K bonus to the #1 pick compromises things... scap that AFL! $10K for a number one pick is loose chnge to them in the fullness of time

Exactly I don't have Draper in that bracket of
Lalor Smith and Fos and id even have Langford ahead of him
Fos or Smith 100% will be at Carlton and honestly we would be getting the equal best player in the draft at 3
I agree. Bizarrely, we find ourselves with no pressure on us. It is all on the Tigers and whoever ends up with pick 2. We get handed one of Lalor, FOS or Jagga - who are so hard to split. I love lalor as the striker-style mid which would transform our clearance game. But the quality of the engine-style mids in FOS and Jagga are just so tantalising. Just not sure what it means for Cerra long term (more a defensive mid without a second posi), unless we push Walsh to a wing in a Gulden-type role?

He won’t be called out by Richmond at pick 1. There’s some prestige and monetary benefit for the No.1 player and it deserves to go to the player Richmond deem to be the best.

After that it doesn’t really matter if a bid is made on Ashcroft between #2 and #7, the outcome is Brisbane will still need to use its picks 27, 34 and 42 (1,640 points) to match bids made between #2 and #7.

Brisbane will then need to use all its remaining picks to match a bid on its academy player Marshall tipped to go in the first round.

So expect a bid on Ashcroft between #2 and #7.

As a club with upcoming academy, and F/S prospects over the next two years … we’d want to play nice when it comes to bidding.
