When I look at that lust my first thought was ...."most of those blokes mentioned above have one thing in common - apart from footy ability and no it isnt the so called 'speed' "- only two of those blokes are genuinely fast.
Are we trying to pick a 2nd Brownlow medallist or are we trying to pick a player who will compliment our current one and be a star in their own right in the future?

This is like the reverse Dodoro. He was allergic to picking anyone who wasn't a flanker or small agile mid despite the fact they've been needing a big body bull for years and years. The result - 20+ years of rubbish.

Some of this board seem hell bent on stacking us with the biggest tractors the AFL has ever seen despite knowing our team operates at the speed of one of those century old tortoises moping around at the zoo.

Honestly we could do with some Dodoro right now. Quality flankers and small agile mids are what this list is crying out for to balance it out.

Our quick players also never really use it to their advantage. Saad only rarely does it now. When we put Cincotta in the midfield we all of a sudden looked much better.

It's likely our contested and territory game plan that does this to us, we need to trust the squad beyond Cripps, Acres and Walsh to do our attacking.

Would love to see Wilson have a big year. He's got the exact traits I see us missing currently. Built like a matchstick however, hoping to see some pics of him in pre season to see if he's bulked up a bit

Doc, Wilson and Lord will be the midfield rotations for 2025 along with Pick 3.

Ben Campo could push past Lord if developed right but I'm really excited about Lord. Has great hands in close and tackles well.

Ben Campo and Pick 3 gives us longevity as a midfield force, but our top 4 aspirations lay at the feet, back and hamstrings of Cerra and Walsh
Yeah. I'm looking forward to seeing Lord next year. His hands are what I noticed as well. One touch. Clean.

Yep think he’ll be the best player from this draft. Do we want a guy who bursts away from stoppage with questionable disposal on rare occasions and otherwise with proven quality disposal inside 50, who has high level agility and ability to read a ball making him an elite clearance extractor, who tackles like a madman, including against men, and who uses his speed and clearance to score goals from inside 50 stoppages or do we want a guy who can play multiple positions, high score assists, weapon of a boot, and a good size and mark. We struggle with our mid/forward connection and ball retention. Langford helps with that. Acceleration from contest is but one trait. I’d much rather Langford over Draper. I’d take Lalor, FOS, and Smith ahead of him too. All those guys can play multiple positions whereas I think Draper has the least versatility of the bunch. Pick 3 we should simply take who we project to be the best player in the draft IMO. Either way, we’re in a beautiful spot coming into the draft at 3.

What a derivative way to describe Draper. You missed out a few things from your description of him. Fixed it for you.

Noticed (only in highlights so pinch of salt stuff) Ben C goes back after marks, stops, waits and doesn't play on enough. Gets a lot of disposal out the back like Murphy used so so little hurt factor.

Aside from disposal a couple more reasons why he might be slipping in the rankings given he gets a lot of disposals.

Goes to show people can view things differently and there's nothing wrong with that.
I've seen a decent about of Draper live since I'm in SA.
I stand by Langford projecting as the best talent in this draft. We can revisit in 10 years time.

I read on here that there is a list so superstars waiting for Voss to give "opportunity" to in the midlfield - what is your view on that? "If only he had the brains to understand how much talent was waiting for opportunity Carlton would be just fine....play the kids" blah blah blah

Apparently Binns/E Hollands/Lord and Wilson are the future - thoughts? or is pick#4 going to be the 'magic pill' ?
