Just to clarify, Soapy. By “Cooper Lord” type, you don’t mean the player is like Cooper, rather that they have just gone under the radar. I feel like your second sentence is already pretty clear on that… but hey, it’s draft day, and I am nervously excited!

I feel as though we will pick a player no one has mentioned or considered as a rookie.

My gut feel is we will have one spot for a 'slider" and another one for someone we have targeted. We have spent so much time and resources this year looking everywhere. More than ever before

Then we will use SSP for a player at end of pre season.

Perfect world I am seeing

Pick 3
Pick 38
then Ben & Lucas Campo

Then 2 rookies of which one will be a "Cooper Lord" type ie. no one has discussed this player at all and will be a surprise.

Then a spot for an SSP

I really hope its.

Pick 3
KPD
Ben
Lucas

Small forward

DGB/Mcmahon

Pick 3, Ben, Lucas and Lord last year are all midfield/running players, hopefully we balance these guys out with key defenders and small forwards.

My dream scenario based on being a supporter and amateur recruiter with no real idea

Pick 3: Harvey Langford (Gun Mid)
Pick 38: Harry O'Farrell (Young Tall Defender)
Pick 63: Ben Camporeale (Mid)
Pick 68: Lucas Camporeale (HBF)

Rookie 1: Will Hayes (Speedy Small Forward)
Rookie 2: Isiah Winder or Coby Burgiel (Both have speed and talent and are still young)

SSP: Liam McMahon (Great person who can play KPF, KPD or 2nd ruck)

really liked Winder in his draft year...clearly things didn't go his way at WCE....

I said I was gone, but it’s actually very tame in here this year - so far.

From Mick the Agressor I got, FWIW;

There’ll be an early live trade. RIC-NM is my guess.
We will draft……….Draper. He’s the burst mid to replace Crippa, who ‘thinks he can play another X amount of years’.
He doesn’t think a bid at 38 comes.
We’ll take a rookie and add depth in the SSP.

Happy with that I/V.

It'll be funny if after all the talk of these pick swaps there are no live trades on night one. It's actually looking fairly likely now this could be the case. At least no particularly meaningful ones. Richmond may part with a late 1st for an F1 (although their night 2 picks are more likely) and you may get a few minor pick slide deals (F2s to move up a couple of spots) but that's about it.

NM 2 split most likely not happening. Same with the Saints pick 8. Can't see any other team trading until maybe GWS and Sydney, but the price would be so exorbitant most would be priced out.

Just read this:

Winder is searching for another shot at AFL level after producing an outstanding season with South Fremantle. The diminutive midfielder spent three years on West Coast's list between 2021-23, but was delisted and returned to the WAFL competition playing with a renewed sense of freedom.

Winder averaged 25.4 disposals and booted 16 goals across 18 appearances, good enough to take out the Bulldogs' best and fairest award. Despite his dominant early-season form, a niggling knee injury saw him overlooked for the mid-season draft, and he did not test after being called up to the WA state draft combine.

Didn’t get that at all from what Agresta said, the live trade he was talking about he said the club was prepared for every scenario. When asked about Jagga and Draper he talked more about Jagga, he didn’t say Draper is the one to replace Crippa.

Later on when Riley asked Cal which clubs he was was keeping an eye on for the live trading, he said the Giants and Bombers. There was no mention of the Kangas trading pick 2

I am hearing Aints are talking with tigers to split pick 8 with two of their later picks

EDIT: not involving 10 and 11
