Mick didn't really say much. Likes Jagga's consistency, character and fact he has stepped up to every level he's played in. Said he never plays a bad game. Likes Drapers explosiveness and really impressed by his SANFL form. Sounded very excited by the Camporeale boys. Said we never had one player in mind when trading for pick 3 but knew there was a really good group of 5 there. All add something different to our midfield.
Could be my own biases but he sounded excited about Draper.

Very happy to hear we have many scenarios mapped out around the bid for Ben. Confident we'll be able to take another good kid around that pick 38

To me sounded more excited about Jagga, described him as an outstanding person doesn’t play a bad game and he spoke more about Jagga then Sid

I thought he sounded a bit more emotive although it's also possible he is making more effort to play it cool when talking about the guy he actually plans on taking. Thursfield was similar when talking about Tauru yesterday. Much more emotive then when describing FOS.

He’s quick by foot, most importantly is very quick of mind.

Looks to make great decisions with his evasion & disposal - buying time when there appears to be none.

This is how he breaks lines - Langford appears to have the same talent, albeit slightly slower by foot & stronger in the air.

Looks a mix between S.Walsh & E.Hollands to me - Pendlebury-esque ability to find time on the move & runs all day contest to contest.

he's quick in the head

Interesting that Agresta said we’re taking 3 picks to the rookie draft. My assumption was that we’d use 1 and pass to keep the other 2 spots free for SSP. Maybe we’d be willing to select 3 in the rookie draft if our preferred players are available.

Yeah i took away from that was if he we land the KPD we're after at #38 (or rookie draft) then Grainger-Barass might be in trouble.
Hoping we take Liam McMahon in the rookie draft but sounds more likely he'll be an SSP.

I didn't take from it that we'll be using 3 picks in the rookie draft. I took it that we have 3 picks in the rookie draft. No guarantee we use them.

I don't think the 2 are correlated. If we take a KPD at 38 it's likely they don't play seniors for a few years. DGB and Durdin would be there for immediate depth purposes.

Carlton father-son prospects and twin brothers Ben and Lucas Camporeale are "completely different players", according to Blues recruiting boss Mick Agresta. "That's probably the best thing - they're completely different players, not just the left and right foot. Lucas is a bit more outside and he can play half-back as well, and he showed his versatility going inside at the back end of the season when Ben was out.

"Ben's your natural ball-winner but he's really strong overhead. The one thing they do have in common is they're unbelievable competitors. For those who get to watch them, at school footy or at Glenelg, you can hear how vocal and how competitive they are, especially with each other."

Perfect world I am seeing

Pick 3
Pick 38
then Ben & Lucas Campo

Then 2 rookies of which one will be a "Cooper Lord" type ie. no one has discussed this player at all and will be a surprise.

Then a spot for an SSP

I reckon the rookie spots will depend on who slides through from the draft. If a player we rate gets through (similar Carroll last year) we probably grab the young player. If not, we probably have more SSP spots.

when he gets it everything slows down and opens up areas of the ground. he won't worry about the inside stuff because crippa Hewett will feed him it
He will have the best reflexes in close of anyone at the club. I want him right in at the feet of the ruckman. He’s a slippery little ****er too. Will get it and use his Shazam ring and get out of there. I think George will be in the VfL before long. Massive luxury. Or sub. Smith plays on ball straight away all year. Centre square. Add Cripps Walsh and Cerra. Maybe lord if they rotate 5.

Smith allows Walsh to play first receiver role. I just can’t believe how good he is in close reflexively. Identical to Daicos in that way. Trusts his hands so much he puts himself right at the ball drop where most couldn’t take the ball.

I think the hardest skill in football is marking the ball in front of your eyes at pace. I think the second hardest is getting on the move flat out at a contest, getting right to the ball drop and get despite the difficulty still grabbing the ball cleanly…..and escaping.

He will be top 5 in the afl at that.

Just to clarify, Soapy. By “Cooper Lord” type, you don’t mean the player is like Cooper, rather that they have just gone under the radar. I feel like your second sentence is already pretty clear on that… but hey, it’s draft day, and I am nervously excited!
