Isn't it supposed to be the top rated team plays first, next the second etc etc so that they have the most time off in between games as reward for finishing higher?

You know, the way BF usually works.

Top side gets to choose if they want to play on the Thursday/Fri or Saturday half of the draw and then TV networks, ground availability and flight schedules for teams returning home from an interstate match will determine the final schedule.

Suspect we are happy to play on either the Thursday or Friday nights as it would give us longer breaks for our next match (plus if we win we would get the Friday Night preliminary final and the extra day off before any possible Grand Final.

As the AFL keeps the income from ticket sales we aren’t concerned about needing to sell tickets as that is the AFL’s responsibility.

I was just thinking this. It’s aesthetically pleasing and feels right given our overall dominance this season.

Would love Freo to win to get Carlton out of the race. Thankfully either Hawthorn or Bulldogs get eliminated in week 1 as we need as few Vic based teams as possible. I don’t think much of Geelong, they may stumble their way to a prelim but can’t see them going further than that.
