Acres been carrying it for at least a month. More surgery coming

Moir has hip issues in final Under 18 year. He was okay when arriving but Russell and co had him on specialised program to improve "weaknesses" around this area. I was told during pre season that plan all along was to get him right and build him up slowly during year and then have a full pre season 24/25. He really hasn't done proper fitness work in 2 years. They weren't expecting him to play Seniors this year. Just by what I saw he would have done less than 50% of pre season with main group.

Looks like they were right and it's working well
Thankyou sir
Follow up question...is Acres' shoulder the same one as last year?

Feel like Cripps will have a huge one. I know WCE will put everything in to stop him given there's not a lot else, but duress games like this are his absolute speciality.

I think WC may get Yeo into him 1v1 in the contest as opposed to a hard tag, so that'll be his battle imo.

Only issue is Acres shoulder is buggered and he can't lift it properly

I think wings will be Acres & Binns and they will play Ollie as HF/extra winger
It was banged up in Dees semi final too, but he still took a crunch mark and kicked the winner.

I suspect he plays with a dodgy shoulder more often than not, but to his credit he’s still really effective overhead.

I did see him at a social function this week and he was also pretty dismissive re the “bung shoulder” narrative

i could see us start lemmey but sub him out because of conditions, with young then coming forward/ruck, if he wasn't already especially if wc were to sub out a tall thru conditions. hard to see lemmey playing a full game if conditions are as expected.
just has to compete, halve the contest if he can and draw the frees. there may be other mids better suited as sub but moir as a sub may not get gassed across 4 quarters, injury permitting. inside a quarter from sprints, another question altogether.
conditions might also aid someone like him, lots of ball-ups and not much end-to-end.

hoping for 4 points, and for enough players able to be picked next week. heavy ground won't help for the last round...

I wouldn't read too much into this. Players always downplay injuries. Mindset is reality - if he was moping around woe is my shoulder you can bet it shows up on gameday. He seems the stoic type who just gets on with it, and as we saw in finals he thrives with that mindset.

I know they’ve been playing very ordinary footy but I can’t see why we can’t win. Midfield is still there, defence too (Saad a loss obviously) and the forward line might run a muck with endless chao balls. Depends how much they’re battered I suppose. But you never know.

Its oddly exciting all these opportunities the new guys will get and existing players will have in different roles.

I am still not expecting a win, but hopeful everyone can give it a red hot crack, and hopefully we can see positives in the 3 debutants or near debutants playing, as well as other guys having to take on greater responsibility.

I think me like a lot of others have been going through the stages of grief, of realising the shot we had at a flag and being a top 2 top 4 side aren't going to happen (and now with the injuries not even top 8), and now I have reached acceptance, and whatever will be will be.

Lemmy won’t be playing voss said in his press conference. Binns,Lord and Moir as new faces

WCE are near last on the injury list. Carlton currently lead it with 1600+ games of experience on the sidelines, more than double the team in 2nd spot.
So nah, no excuses for WCE.
I wasn’t saying we don’t have our share of injuries and they’re much worse than WCE, but even those that do run out are not 100%, yet play as they’re better than the “fitter” alternatives.

Fev offered to play out of the square this week! LOL

I love Blakers but I also think he really 'milked' the bung shoulder in the finals last year - the running off holding it up with the other hand. ;)
