People are going to shred Kemp for that miss but he’s a makeshift forward who hasn’t played forward at AFL level all year until last week

Little wonder his technique failed him under pressure. Hope the club gets around him

Can’t fault the effort and kids were great.
Lack of a release kick late really hurt us - none of TDK/H/Curnow to make those down the line contests 50/50s. Pittonet can’t be first ruck at AFL level if he is completely useless outside the ruck contest

Won’t watch the Port game and tbh club has a lot of thinking to do over summer - especially in the conditioning department
So you can't kick a football between two posts 11 metres apart from 25 metres. Stop making excuses

The reason we make so many errors is carlton think it can win a premiership with pure contest and pressure, when the evidence suggests great transition is also required, underpinned by a list with some great disposers of the ball, with great leg speed. Our list is unbalanced and half as good as most supporters think it is
We're still trying to catch up and build a team for pre 6-6-6. Agree that our balance is way off, though I'm optimistic that it actually will only take 3-4 players to balance out. I really hope but gut is wrong about us ignoring balance in the offseason.

No one stayed on our side of the stoppage and allowed Higgins through. We all stood defensive side. One more forced stoppage and that was game. Our stoppage setups have screwed us all year and we need to get that right. Gutsy with so many out. I don’t think many teams, if any, could cover that many key outs. There’s a tipping point and we reached it a long time ago.
Unfortunately, our stopage game in our defensive 50 has been deplorable most of the year. It's a hard watch, that's for sure.

At the sadness point of grief.

Heartbreaking.

It's hard to think that I was in Melbourne 2 months ago for the 21/6 game against Geelong.

I thought we'd turned the corner as a football club. Not just a finals team but a genuine contender. We smashed a great team with comparable injuries going into the game.

Even the Richmond game the week after wasn't the same feeling as that. There was a big turning point in that game - when we got a dodgy free kick that saw Richmond drop their heads and we took full advantage to kick away.

And since then we barely fired a shot.

Playing injured players.

Becoming way too predictable until we reached a point where we had to sideline half our team and Plan A simply wasn't going to work with the personnel.

Loss after loss after loss. Only wins coming against the three worst clubs in the competition.

The injuries are no excuse. Player management needed to be better throughout the season and not just on an an Andy Russell level.

The line coaching has been pathetic all season. I will tear my head out if we go into another season with the same goofs coaching the lines.

The recruiting has resulted in Agresta'd Development.

We have some great young kids but they won't develop if you don't place your trust in them to get consistent opportunity.

And the people that I'm the least disappointed in? The players who busted their absolute ass to try and carry us into September. I'm proud as ****ing punch for those that clearly left it all out there.

Cripps, I'm sorry you've missed out again. Go and get your body right. You are a legend of this football club and you will lift 17.

Binns can play. Lord can play. Moir can play.

That’s the silver lining out of that show.

If we’d brought the intensity of the last two weeks over the previous month, this wouldn’t even be an issue.

We have to be more willing to play guys like Binns and not keep talking about his deficiencies.

Binns honestly looks like he belongs out there at the top level. But I think that a lot of people are gunshy about untested players after getting burnt by players like Dow, Stocker, and LOB. If we hadn't been so invested in playing the experienced players all the time, we wouldn't know how good the kids are. There are probably some guys on the list who are going to be delisted this year who have never been tested.

I don't think that the issue lies with just Voss. There are some others behind the scenes calling the shots... still!

Young was sensational today.
Really loved what i saw from Moir and Lord - we have a couple of good ones there.
Binns will be a star - we absolutely must hang on to him.
Agreed. As heartbroken as I am, I'm astonished at people bashing Young & some others who came in and gave it their all. That was possibly Youngs best game for us since 2022.

The effort today was immense. Just hurts so much.

Umm? Took a couple good marks at the end but he was largely a liability all game, especially with ball in hand.

I must say I'm mostly just a lurker but for weeks now I have noticed you've been riding us into the dirt at every opportunity. The thread title is ridiculous, surely take a balanced approach as a mod at least until the results are official?

Riding us into the dirt? Bit of an over-exaggeration. Think of it as an attempt at a reverse-mozz.

You know nothing of my journey as a supporter. How about you constructively address whatever you disagree with, without the hyperbole and attacks on me as a poster and mod?

You think there is no emotion in our collapse this season. Sheesh.

Most supporters feel like they just experienced a death and your contribution is to have a shot at me.

Moir 40 ranking point in a qtr

Motlop 40 ranking points in a whole game

Why the **** was he even playing

Had donuts in the first half of last 2 games

Where the **** is the accountability

**** me

In fairness today Voss had very little to work with today. If the club didn’t have an injury list as long as a Tolstoy novel I’m sure Durdin and Motlop (and a few others) wouldn’t have been playing today. I actually thought the effort today was fantastic. We had the chance to win, we just didn’t take it.

I’m more pissed at the off field leaders of the club. Andrew Russell should’ve been shown the door last year. Martin, Marchbank and Cuningham should have been delisted at the end of last year. We’ve been missing a good small forward and tall back depth years.

Re: Moir

Anyone who has watched him this year knows he is long way from getting through 4 quarters. He’s a kid that barely played last year and had no pre season

Club has slowly built him up and it’s working. Credit to the kid as his fitness is improving all the time

A big pre season is now needed. Big picture
