In fairness today Voss had very little to work with today. If the club didn’t have an injury list as long as a Tolstoy novel I’m sure Durdin and Motlop (and a few others) wouldn’t have been playing today. I actually thought the effort today was fantastic. We had the chance to win, we just didn’t take it.

I’m more pissed at the off field leaders of the club. Andrew Russell should’ve been shown the door last year. Martin, Marchbank and Cuningham should have been delisted at the end of last year. We’ve been missing a good small forward and tall back depth years.
Yep, makes it a lot harder to do any proper analysis of coaching performance with so many best 22 players out. Curnow, McKay, McGovern, DeKoning, are 4 out of our best 22 spine. Then add Cerra, Docherty, Williams, Martin, Boyd and it's really the whole story behind our fall from grace.

I remember many moons ago that an old regular poster, Harker, did some analysis on finalists and injuries, and any time a club used more than 30 players in a season, their odds of going deep in finals fell off dramatically.

Getting Russell's replacement right is going to be critical to our ability to manage a team that clearly is injury prone.

Why hasn't Voss played the kids? Ran the players into the ground during the season, the kids showed what they can do in the last two games, but Voss the genius knows it all.
Voss is only one part of the match committee.

Not disagreeing soapy, but should’ve been on earlier & for a diff player

I just don’t think he would have had the impact he did if he had played longer.

I have no issue with change. Carroll was just okay, Lord was really stepping up next to Cripps, and we went with an extra goal kicker

We lost in the last 12 seconds. I understand the decision

Effort was there and I’m proud with how hard the boys fought.

- Acres was huge. I’ve never seen Carlton so clearly ‘win’ a trade in a very long time.

- Durdin was courageous with his shoulder absolutely stuffed.

- Moir to me looks like the Martin replacement.

- Cripps was (as always) huge. Walsh played his best game in a long time. Ollie hollands was awesome, as was Newman and Hewett.

- We look so much better when we attack and ditch Voss’s layers. This is his 4th year next year, he needs mature support in the box and needs to allow us to play a faster, more attacking brand.

Cut the injury plagued players, rebalance the list with some speed and try build some durability. Half glass full for me and let’s hope this burns the club over the off season and powers them forward.
