The shit CD gets in this thread has been unwarranted. Immediately a top 3 kick for us. Guarantee he's gonna make everyone who talks him down for being short look like idiots.
This.

For all the people saying CD couldn't make the best 22 of the WB, here's a wake up call for you. There would be less than 10 players on our list this year that would have got a game for the WB in 2024.

Darling - okay business.
Parker, Konstanty - very happy.
Daniel - shocking overpayment.

Not happy with giving up pick 25 with this crop. So many players that fill far more pressing needs will be available.
I would have thought bringing in someone who can hit up a target out of defence is exactly what we need. No one has been happy with LMac long bombing to the opposition ad nauseum. If he can recapture the form he has shown with the dogs he could be the best recruit of the lot.

Literally no way of pleasing some people in this group , got in 3. premiership players who have great standards.
A young forward who will get an opportunity if he wants it. All for speculative picks.
IMO , splitting 2 an/or our future 1st is a must. We need to improve NOW .
Bringing in those three pros with great training standards is exactly what we need to become more competitive and set the right example to the kids coming through.

That’s great we paid high for a rebounding small mid paced half back (wait didn’t we do that last year?)

But our issue is defensive pressure in the forward and the midfields shit two way running/lack of intensity.

We have McKercher, Powell who can play there and hit targets.

We need a young key forward. We don't need a 7th half back flanker at that price.

Not opposed to picking up Daniel but the price was way too steep. Especially when our opponents will play through him when they go forward

Disagree mate.

Our rebound game was among the worst in the comp.

Daniel isn't Houston, but he just cost less than a third of the draft point capital we were offering for DH.

People around here carry on about how Daniel's a defensive liability, but you know what, the Pies got into the prelims in Daicos' debut year, and I guarantee CD's defensive accountability for us will be greater that what ND showed that year.

we had a future second and a future 3rd

there was no need to trade 25
Guess what?..

Next year we have a second and third!.. but wait there's more!..

For all the DPJ's (Draft Pick Junkies) on this board we have a 1st rounder too!!!!

Get around Brady - the KING!

Our rebound game sucked because we don't have any forwards who know how to lead.

the whingeboners are out in full force tonight.

Overall we a pick in the 30’s would have been right for Daniel’s. I assume we tried offering our F3 to everyone for a trade but as we have seen there has not been much demand for Future picks in a strong draft.

We might have overpaid but I’m not getting upset until draft night and we can review what we did with pick 2 and our future picks to get back into this years draft.

Our biggest deficiencies prior to trade period were Leadership, pressure forwards and tall forwards.

We have attempted to address that here (as we did in the MSD) and I’m hopeful Daniel and Parker can have solid contributions in building our premiership winning culture.

I’ve always been a massive Daniel fan and at 28 with his decision making and ball use I’m hopeful he will be a key role in how we move the ball.

Parker brings hardness and just kicked in a losing GF and Darling will play an important structural role. JK is a free hit in a position we are threadbare in.

You're kidding aren't you. The way Brady negotiates you could probably fleece our #2 for your 3 picks the 20's, with a future 3rd coming back your way!
There are only 3 clubs to trade with

StKilda 7 & 8 - I dont think you get anything decent there

GWS 15 , 16 , 21 pick #2 is way too high

Richmond to get a high pick like #6 the 2nd pick will be late and for north the further trade with GWS gives 4 picks 15-21
with 6 Richmond wont trade 10/11

More than that, we lacked a backline general capable of organising the troops in front of him.

You might have to go back a couple years, but Daniel has shown over a substantial body of work he can do that.
