We have McKercher, Powell who can play there and hit targets.

We need a young key forward. We don't need a 7th half back flanker at that price.

Not opposed to picking up Daniel but the price was way too steep. Especially when our opponents will play through him when they go forward
Agree we need key forwards asap. At least now we have someone coming off half back who can hit up a forward. McKercher isn't a defender he'll be free and far more damaging in the midfield with Sheezel and co. Powell as a half back? Who knows? Anyway he's one of ours now. 👍

More than that, we lacked a backline general capable of organising the troops in front of him.

You might have to go back a couple years, but Daniel has shown over a substantial body of work he can do that.
Daniel plays further up the ground than that. Has definitely not played the general role.

Dont have to split pick 2.

Can swap with Richmond with our first rounder next year.

No way they take all of their picks this draft, they will want to spread it out.
Dont think Richmond would be keen on your F1
we would be looking to sell off #23 & #24 for F1's and take the rest probably 5-6 selections depending on how the cards fall

Excuse the intrusion

I can understand the melts about not having picks but there are multiple options still available with pick 2

#2 for #6 + #18
on trade #6 to Gws #15 , #16 , #21

North end up with #15 , #16 , #18 , #21

Be honest would you trade a top 3 pick for 4 picks beyond 15?

Disagree mate.

Our rebound game was among the worst in the comp.

Daniel isn't Houston, but he just cost less than a third of the draft point capital we were offering for DH.

People around here carry on about how Daniel's a defensive liability, but you know what, the Pies got into the prelims in Daicos' debut year, and I guarantee CD's defensive accountability for us will be greater that what ND showed that year.
Zorko isn’t the best 1 vs 1 defender either. If we get our pressure game up we can carry it.

It is what it is, we say welcome to our new North players.

Sure we may have overpaid for Daniels, but on the flip side would anyone guarantee that we would have picked a player that would step into our senior side and potentially be top 5-10 in his first year with pick 25?

We’ve brought in 3 senior players and a previous pick 20 (a small forward who we have been chasing), essentially for picks 25 and 44.

25 + 44 for Daniel, Parker and Konstanty.

Two premiership players and a former pick 20 small forward.

Can’t be unhappy with that.
Way too much whingeing on here. But I accept that. It's Bigfooty. Par for the course.

Clarko said we needed experience, so we bring in three premiership players. Can't argue with that.

Some wanted pick 48 back with CD when we gave up 25. Which bona fide champion player would we have drafted with pick 48??

Some wanted to give up our F2 rather than 25, without realising that F2 would have BEEN 25 in or thereabouts in 2025. Somehow in some people's minds F2 is pretty much a throwaway but 25 is valuable. Come on guys.

We needed experience, not more speculative young players. We have tons of those. We got experience. It was a good result. Be happy. We still have pick 2 as well.

yeah but how much better if it were a f3 and 44 given

and at 25 we pick a KPF like Gerryen

Look people are allowed to have negative opinions on trades this club makes. We heard the same stuff when people called the CCJ trade a poor one, and every time this club has made a blue. We will make more mistakes as time goes on, that's just the game, and it's okay to put your opinion out there when you think one has been made.

I pray this doesn't turn out to be one, but IMO at this point in time, it is.

I would have thought bringing in someone who can hit up a target out of defence is exactly what we need. No one has been happy with LMac long bombing to the opposition ad nauseum. If he can recapture the form he has shown with the dogs he could be the best recruit of the lot.
Just thinking of LMac’s kicking makes me feel sick in the stomach!

Demoralizing for the team each and every time he misses a target!!

Caleb is a welcome inclusion!!

As was mentioned in the members Q and A we want to get back to playing the attacking brand that we tried at the start of the year. Through the corridor. Daniel is that guy to bite off the 45 degree kick to get it into the corridor from defence. He’s going to have a very big part in what we are going to do next year. We can’t have another year of LMac or Fisher trying to bite that kick off.

Gave you
Xerri signing for 4
Parker committing
Konsta early
And Ldu will sign but still can’t convince you all!

That’s me for 24 see you next year.
Love ya work GR2023!

3 of our biggest holes are leadership, experience and delivery out of the backline. Number crunching aside these trades make us better yes?
Of course.

For me, we would have won a few more games this year and may have even put Collingwood, Freo, or West Coast to the sword.

The players need some belief, and most of all, we need LDU to sign before these future trading/no salary cap/entitled parasites that want to compete every year for decades come knocking.

If we fix these problems, we might even attract a Free Agent, or a trade prospect of note.

Pick 25 is not overpaying.

Overpaying, is if our core leaves.

Taken as a package of four players, Brady did well.

Whining about pick 25 being overs is ridiculous, outside of the first round it is speculation, nothing more.

There are some seriously sad ****s here.
It's more the list balance. That was a good chance to add Gerreyn/Faull/Sims as a key forward or Matt Whitlock as a key defender or small forward like Hannaford at pick 25.
