We have been shit for so long, we have to try something.

The keep going to the draft, and we will be contending in 2027 is a total pipe dream.

Split #2, flip out F1, get as much draft capital as possible.

Get Parker and Houston and as many kids as we can.

Get our chips and push them in. What are we waiting for. Clarko has 3 more years. It’s now or never.
Great in theory, until Houston (publicly) selects Carlton.

Meh when we played Carlton last time we probably should have beaten them. To say picking us over the blues is crazy seems an exaggeration. Could we quite possibly beat them when we play next Good Friday? Absolutely. Those last 2 rounds have left such a bad vibe in our minds but the blues are not that far ahead

P. Cripps... 3 votes.

Lol the Sydney was from five metres out. Even the Geelong one was 15 metres closer than Houston’s.
If we’re being literal, Rohan is 2x the match winner that Houston is.

The obvious point of the original post was that if Ryan is worth a late second (your evaluation) then it just makes no sense whatsoever that Houston is worth a potential top 3 pick.

They are very similar players, perhaps not in style, but in terms of role, achievements and value to a team. Just because Houston makes drop punt look nice doesn’t justify a 30+ pick upgrade.

And the main reason people are even considering it, is the ridiculous price port have stuck on. It’ll like some bizarro Emperors new clothes shit. It’s all backwards imo.

Curnow flopped at the Brownlow votes-wise in a similar manner to the way he flopped for frees on Good Friday.

In any case, my point is that Poorta can't set a price too high - if they try that the negotiations don't happen.
Hate to think what that means if LDU or Sheezel wanted out.

Let me tell you something, kicking a goal after the siren is a different 'matchwinner' to dominating a quarter/game.
Of course it is. I just wanted a pithy retort.

Port has been one of the more effective teams at scoring on the rebound this year, and Houston more than anyone has been responsible for that.

2 pages ago we were not one of the five clubs Dan came to see and now we are front runners with Carlton.
The late mail! ;)

Josh Money = The She Works Hard For The

Ben Cotton = The Fine

Time to dust off this one

Next minute Houston is being shown where the kettle and tins of Nescafé are stored in the club’s makeshift cafe . But in all seriousness highly unlikely he will be coming to us.
Take him out for a Banh Mi pork roll with extra crackling. LMac can handover his 11 jumper as well when the lunch is finished. DH would look good with the 11 on his back.

Jon Ralph writes an article every day during this period. If there is no news he writes the same article from two perspectives on alternate days. He is a muppet. He wrote that Richmond will expect more than pick 6 for Rioli. Don’t put any faith in what Jon Ralph writes he gets paid by the click/hit

If he was paid by the click surely he’d write that Houston is a chance to go to Collingwood. Making up bull that he’s a chance to end up at North is hardly a good way to generate clicks

Ah hang on a minute. Port can only trade their F1 out for Luko (if ticked off by AFL), then they're supposed to retain their F2 and F3. What would Perryman cost in trade value? Pick 36 and 54 this year?
Or maybe getting in a 1st rounder from elsewhere allows you to trade out your own F1.

Perryman is a FA so nothing

They are not even the same in terms of role. Very strange comparison. Ryan is more the 3rd tall. Clarke is their hb that tries to break the lines wirh speed or by foot, he is the closer comparison. He was traded for what 20 and future 3rd so brings to low teens. He was 20 and barely played any games so his trade was all on potential
