rather Owies for say a future 3rd rounderHonestly wouldn’t mind snatching him up
but Jack Martin for free is a good backup option

Daresay Brady has a fair idea already from his time as midfield coach and list manager there. You never know, could be like Waitey who played the majority of his career at Carlton but the reception he and his family got at North, considers himself a North person through and through. Fact.
Now that Simmo isn’t their coach, his relationship with our club and our coach - I am pretty sure we would have a great read and insight into what we are getting and what we aren’t with Jack Darling. So if we get him I’m pretty confident the pros outweigh the cons.
Plenty to choose from.
Josh Schache. Levi Casboult. Matt Taberner. Sam Day.
Plenty.
Darling is pressing North for 2 years guaranteed with a trigger for a 3rd year. He wouldnt leave otherwise. The $800k for 2025 is spread across the 2 years plus North adding approx $100k across those 2 years as well. Effectively Darling being paid $450k per year. No WCE salary dump at all. The draft capital WCE to receive from North in return is something in the 40's.
Do we still have room for Tex Wanganeen?Marchbank can play but always injured wouldnt mind giving him a train on spot over the summer to go for the lti spot when brayden george goes on the LTI
Jack Martin could be a free backup option as a small forward likewise cuningham
My old eyes had me squinting … thought we’d picked up a young Tommy Hawkins … Kallan Dawson indeedNot many lazy and uniteresed players start pre-season training in September, old bean.

Dangling the carrot to Crows for pick 4 so they can make a play for Sharp.
Draper, Armstrong and GMan is gizworthy.

Agreed, he did very well when JHF walked out to construct that big trade - even getting AFL sign off - so we got Sheez AND George and then Goad.
Don't even need to climb too far, will be pushed back from academy and f/s bids. This year's draft is looking way stronger, want as many pix as possible this year and do what you gotta do to bring in talent now to speed up the rebuild, before we hit super compromised drafts thanks to Tassie. If we brought in Houston and Parker, and perhaps an Owies and I assume Darling which takes pressure off Larkey/Zurhaar/Duursma, Curtis, along with the natural progression of Sheezel, Wardlaw, McKercher et al.....not out of the question to jump up to 10.....in that context, that draft pick probably ends up somewhere around 15 in the open draft. We must be confident of climbing the ladder next yr. I am not sure I really like trading away potentially a future top 4 pick.
Thats actually pretty reasonable, i say that as somebody against getting him mainly due to salary. He's backing himself in a fair bit for that trigger effectively playing the second season for only 100k benefit to himself.Oh well, no deal
No current season stats available

Was referring more to small forwards. Colby is 182 btw not exactly a mosquitoColby McKercher's quite nimble.

I would have thought that's pretty standard - he's not moving a young family for much less. So long as the trigger includes a fair part of the 2026 season (meaning he's still a contributor) then it's fair enough, barring our pick 40 which I think we should be using in the draftDarling is pressing North for 2 years guaranteed with a trigger for a 3rd year. He wouldnt leave otherwise. The $800k for 2025 is spread across the 2 years plus North adding approx $100k across those 2 years as well. Effectively Darling being paid $450k per year. Struth looks like he's put on some bulk,,,,,good onya Kal. I like this bloke and would love to see him make CHB his own and play every round. My old eyes had me squinting … thought we’d picked up a young Tommy Hawkins … Kallan Dawson indeed
I’d definitely look at Marchbank and Martin for nothingCarlton delist Marchbank, Martin, Cuningham, Akuei and Mirkov
can these blokes please go back to Bali so we've got something to complain aboutNot many lazy and uniteresed players start pre-season training in September, old bean.

bad run with injuries, no?What happened to Jack Martin? He looked like an emerging jet.
We got Wardlaw and Goad. No need for the political style spin
Let me tell you something, I don't want any more comparisons between Jack Darling and Jarrad Waite, Shaun Higgins, Wayne Carey, Brett Chandler, Paul Geister, Glenn Gorman, Wade Kingsley or in fact anyone.
Yes, 10 first round picks…FUTURE PICKS UP FOR GRABS
NORTH Melbourne is among the clubs open to putting its future first-round pick on the trade table to land another top pick in this year's draft as teams clamour for high end talent.
The strong regard for which recruiters hold the 2024 draft crop has been further exemplified by most clubs expressing they are open to using their future pick to buy into this year's first round.
The majority of clubs are open to either adding an extra first-round pick or attaining a first-round pick in this year's draft by using their future pick as a trade chip.
The Roos are understood to be among them, having put forward a future first-round pick for Port Adelaide star Dan Houston.
North Melbourne holds pick No.2 at this year's draft, behind Richmond at No.1. The Roos have used 10 first-round picks in the past four drafts, including seven in the past two years for the likes of Harry Sheezel, George Wardlaw, Colby McKercher and Zane Duursma.
Only Jason Horne-Francis is no longer at the club from that group of Roos' first-round picks as they piece together a talented young group. – Callum Twomey
