Geelong drug dealers like this
I know Gee is on the coast, but if I was Vic Pol I’d be watching every ship coming in as suddenly the price of Mexican Booger Sugar is about to go through the roof due to increased demand

Archer, too. And Comben. And if we're using people from before these current coaches, Larkey was bloody pick 70- something and was AA.

The sooky bubs around here will always find something to be negative about.
Not a touch premature listing Archer and Comben? Like surely they would need to prove themselves over more than a third of a season? If we develop talent so well then why are we not more competitive? Is it match day coaching?

According to Matthew Lloyd, his APS coach, LDU hasn’t kicked on nearly as well at North as he’d imagined …. And Blamed North for LDU’s stagnation. Fwiw.
LDU is 26 years old; old enough to go and ask Lloyd, Clarkson, Harvey, his manager, et al what he needs to be doing to get better.

He can even ask me: practice your goal kicking running through the 50 metre arc, practice not getting under the ball when you to quickly kick out of congestion, practice taking some pace of the ball when kicking inside 50 so that you don’t overshoot the target, etc.

He’s hardly stagnated.

He’s become a top tier midfielder who sides plan for because we have **** all else.

You take it and run,
If we ain’t first in line for that deal, the club is kidding themselves.
At worst It’s basically 5 million for a top five pick, at best Clarry is pushing us towards finals next year.
And yes a fit and firing Clarry would turn our fortunes that much.
People keeping talking about salary dumps but they are incredibly rare. There is no way no club would take him even for a low pick.

Luke has possibly the worst kicking action in the comp, we should have worked on it from day 1. If you think that is an exageration, watch his shoulders on slow mo and try copying it.

Worst kicking action in the comp? My lord some people need to get their heads out of their arses.

Exactly

He is a professional footballer.Any lack of development is one hundred percent against LDU himself.

He along with 15 of his mates selected in the top 20 of there respective drafts need to grow the **** up.

Enough molly coddling they need some straight 90s style home truths told to them.

Could any of them.... LDU Phillips Larkey Corr Stephenson McDonsld Sympkin Stephens Lougue etc etc could name another 10 ....seriously look the supporter base in the eye and say they give 100% not only onfield on match ddaybut during the week

And off season

Wondering how good he could be in a gun side is purely hypothetical and therefore redundant really, in reality the top teams have better small forwards - Papley, Cameron, Green, Bolton, Miers, Elliott, Rankine, Bailey which he would be behind.
This the same Papley and Cameron who did nothing in the GF.

Try copying it

Nah what you should try is actually backing up your sentiment with evidence.

One things for sure is that he has a better kicking action than most ruckmen. That’s obvious.

Exhibit B would be some of the other mids in the comp who blatantly hack the footy worse than Luke. Examples would include: Oliver, Treloar, Adams, Serong, Anderson, Caldwell, etc.

Luke was hit and miss this year, but has some absolute beauties in his locker based on what I’ve seen in his career.

Bergman and Hardeman may turn out to be great players, or they may not.

What we do know is that Houston already is one.

He's probably the third best player in a team that went on to reach the preliminary finals.

He's the single most important cog in their rebound game, for which they were one of the better sides throughout 2024.

By comparison, we were among the very worst.

Personally I'm happy to let Viney and Rawlings worry about the salary cap. Its the least challenging part of our predicament.

Putting aside the cost debate for a moment, I struggle to understand how you or anyone else can think Houston wouldn't service an important need for us.
Half back flankers don't win you a grand final. Elite mids and key power forwards do.

Pick 2 must go to the best midfielder in this years and next year as well when despite winning 6-8 games will still have a top 4 draft pick.

Then you throw ridiculous money at a key established forward

This recruiting mosquito small forwards and so called half back flankers is fools gold
