I know there are a lot of suggestions of pick 40 for Parker but if Sydney have any academy players next year, would they be better off taking our 3rd or 4th rounder next year for points?
Probably not considering the DVI changes the afl is bringing in next year. 4th round picks wont have any points attached to them.

Tom Harleys interview on radio this morning made the Warner/Freo sounds like it was a real chance in 2025, making our F1 a really attractive asset for them. What does everyone think is an acceptable deal? I'll have a go at the bones of a deal looping in Brisbane:

North
In: 9, 18, 69
Out: F1, 22, 40, 58

Brisbane
In: 22, 27, 58
Out: 18, F3 (Lions), 69

Fremantle
In: F1 (North), 40, F3 (Lions)
Out: 9, 27

North 2024 Draft picks
2,9,18,64,69

That is not a favourable trade for North really.

To much, we keep 22 and then more back to us. 9 and 18 isn't enough for a top 4 pick.

We are going to wipe almost a years worth of draft picks for some 30+ year olds and a midget.

Cats pick up a delisted fa in Martin and a young gun in Bailey williams (more than likely on the cheap) and will probably turn them in AA’s. That’s how you do trade period.

bailey williams lol

and no those 3 will only cost late picks and futures

will still have pick 2 and 22
and might even split 2

Why are you laughing? Do you expect North to not pay overs in the unlikely scenario he selects us?

A top 4 pick (F1 or Pick 2) is essentially 2 (late) firsts.
Based on draft points perhaps, but the reality is that there is a 95% of the top 10 players on your draft list not going to be available with two late firsts.

We are wanting more picks to pick better positional needs not to dilute the f*ck out of our draft hand that we only gave essentially 2 first rounders to show for it.

You see, they've been very good for 20 years, barely missing finals and winning four flags.

We've finished bottom two five years in a row.

We have to assume some of the risk. The pick will be highly coveted if its tabled by Fremantle so our offer will have to be competitive. Assume we finish 15th, the bones of the Deal is 4,22 for 9 and 18. The exchange of later picks is largely redundant as they'll be used to bring in Darling and Parker. If you go by history, the team using future picks to trade into the current draft year rarely looks the winner on paper and almost always have to overpay. With future trading opening up, there is nothing stopping us from trading back into 2025 draft.

We'd go from having some of the worst kicking skills in any backline to one of the best.

Having Houston plus Daniel as rebounding defenders, substituted by cameos from Sheezel and Kerch, would be elite.

Pinpoint darts all day long.
To all here don’t get your hopes up with these 2 players yes they are talented players with excellent foot skills but everyone has to remember McDonald will be in the backline and will be Captain.
You got to remember The Donald will be saying to his mates yes bring in talent but not at the expense of my son.

To start with I think you mean Bailey Smith and secondly he won't be cheap. Bulldogs are holding out for a top ten pick... this will go deep into the trade period
