Rookie draft - Billy Gowers, Brad Walsh, Tom Fields, Fraser Russell
Delisted free agent - Matthew Dick

Only positive was Liam Jones for Pick 46.

Combined with successive busts with our first pick in the draft …

We are better at drafting than we were … but never any guarantees … with the picks he’s had I think Austin is tracking well …

I was a believer in SOS and we had a terrible list at the end of Malthouse’s tenure in 2014 … and certainly some successes (2015 with Weitering, Harry and Charlie, and then 2018 with Walsh) and failures notwithstanding the players were highly rated (2016 SPS and 2017 Dow) … and taking TDK at Pick 30 in 2017 was brave at the time and brilliant with hindsight.

What we have trended better at is mainly getting our first pick right and not choosing as many busts later on in the draft.
