Is that then 8 spots to fill on senior/rookie list? 44 spots to fill?
No, 6.
Or 7, if you’re not including Duffy as already added to the list (which according to the AFL website he already has been, there just hasn’t been an official announcement).

For the sake of clarity, there are only 2 types of Rookie, not 5 as per Aph’s list.

Okay, so I'll go with 6 left

Pick 40
Ben Camporeale
Lucas Camporeale

Leaves us with 3 rookie spots after tonight for rookie selections or SSPs

Cat A & Cat B only?

Which Category do SSP & Int rookies fit into?

SSP are Cat A. As are Mid-season draftees.
International are Cat B, unless you have more than 2 of them, then they have to be Cat A.

2025 List consists of:-

33 Senior players
3 Category A Rookies
1 Category B Rookie

What's status of list now?

Anyone know going into tonight how many Senior spots and how many rookie spost we have?
I hope we take five in the draft. Jagger pick40-KPD Ben another KPP and the mail that Lucas will be taken as well possibly with our last pick…

Wouldn’t be disappointed if we had another young player like Lord lined up for a rookie spot either, which would be the more likely scenario…

For those gurus who know the rules on lists etc. This is NOT an endorsement for us or any club to get Tarryn Thomas so don’t pile on me.
Court case today no criminal conviction, 1 year good behaviour bond.
How does he get his way back onto a list provided Afl don’t block it & clubs are interested. Does he have to go into draft or can a club list him outside draft.

Think that's spot on - Agresta's interview pre-draft stated we were coming in with 4 ND picks and 3 Rookie Draft picks. Not necessarily using them all, but that was the intended structure. Jagga being our only pick so far means we're left with 3 and 3.

2x Campos plus one other pick (wherever that falls), and you'd assume only 1 RD selection given we've committed to 4 train-on players and you're allowed 2 per open list spot.

Assuming he's cleared to play by the AFL, I think there's one more DFA window after the draft, then there's the SSP up until around pre-season. If nobody bites in either of those windows then his next option would be the mid season draft middle of next year.

"Thomas was sacked after being suspended for 18 games by the AFL, which confirmed in May he could not play or train at any level of the game without the league's approval."

He hasn't nominated for the draft, but would qualify as a DFA is AFL allow it. I doubt any club will pick him up now. Next year perhaps.

Surely the youngster has learnt a bitter lesson, now cleared by the courts, the league should look to help rehabilitate Thomas further by allowing him to play the game he loves, a naturally very gifted player deserves another chance, only if he is tending to ticking the write box’s and his mental attitude is stabilizing.

Just wondering who the 3 category A rookies are as I thought the club got rid of them all, except Boyd who is being promoted to senior list. So with our 3 choices tonight plus Smith last night as well as Haynes and Boyd added to the senior list makes 39 seniors, zero rookies + the 2 Irish B rookies I would have thought.........but someone let me know if it`s different somehow?!! Are the 4 train on players Granger-Barras, Mc Mahon, M. Carroll and Sam Durdin by the way?

Yeah, so still in a senior position over young women?

C'mon think it through

No, under the guidance of other strong leaders, in a professional organisation

You do realise he has the freedom to be anywhere anytime, bars, clubs etc, with no guidance

Mate, I think it's pretty clear we have different ideas about this, but maybe think how the players might feel with a guy like that brought in as their coach.

Maybe Taryn should sort out his life and priorities before someone gives him another chance because he can kick a footy.

Cincotta, Lord and O'Keeffe are the existing 3 rookies.

List changes:
Out:
10 - Domanic Akuei (Delisted), David Cuningham (Delisted), Caleb Marchbank (Delisted), Jack Martin (Delisted), Alex Mirkov (Delisted), Matt Owies (Trade - WCE), Matt Kennedy (Trade - WB), Jack Carroll (Delisted), Matt Carroll (Delisted), Sam Durdin (Delisted)
In: 6 - Nick Haynes (GWS - UFA), Matt Duffy (Ireland - Cat B Rookie), Jagga Smith (ND Pick 3), Harry O'Farrell (ND pick 40), Ben Camporeale (ND pick 43), Lucas Camporeale (ND pick 54)
Uncontracted: 0
Retained SSP/MSD Players: 1 - Cooper Lord
Upgraded Rookie: 1 - Jordan Boyd

List status:
Primary - 36 (36-38)
Rookie - 3 (1-6)
Cat-B Rookie - 2 (0-2)
Total - 41 (44)

Free spots - 0-2 primary, 0-3 rookie (total 3)

Likelihood is that we take one pick in the Rookie draft (though Curly Jr mentioned 2 is a possibility). We'd then have 2 (or 1) spot open for the SSP. Each SSP spot allows 2 players to train on. And yes, I believe the four you mentioned have been invited already to do so.

I see us hitting some strife in about 2028-29 when Weiters, Charlie and Harry would be expected to start to drop away.

Until then all we have to do is continue picking up some quality kids here and there and have some good trades to replace players like Gov, Saad, Newman, Acres etc as they wane.

Cody Walker is a massive massive get if he continues on his projected path. Jagga + Cody paired with Walsh + Cerra means that area is pretty well sorted for a decade.

The KPPs are the only concern for mine. It's going to be extremely hard replacing 3 generational talents there with little draft capital.

Gotta pick up Free Agents or trade a flanker for a KPF/D all in the next few years

Pretty good draft and trade period all told.

Got a stopgap tall Defender for a year or two to partner with Weitering in Haynes. Got O'Farrell in the draft to develop in the meanwhile. Very much a needs pick, and not a reach as he was tipped to go in the 20's but for injury this year.

Got a gun midfielder in Smith and good players the Camporeale twins for cheap.

Cleared up some cap space to pay for TDK next year also.

We really need one of the small forwards to kick on, and to try and find that damaging Half Forward/ Mid type (Dusty, Petracca, De Goey, Reid etc) that we lack.

I'm super excited with what we've got this year. Effectively from players who played this past season, we've lost Kennedy, Owies and J.Carroll, and have gained for games next year Haynes and Jagga Smith, and I'd suspect also Ben Camporeale, with Lucas a sneaky chance. With some step ups from some of the younger players (eg Moir, Lord, etc) I think we're well positioned for both the now, and longer term. Big tick to Austin and Co...
