Serious question if Marvel Stadium hosted a test match around the same date as the 1st test in Perth, would they have got better crowds?

If it does become a numbers game, would CA ever contemplate moving it to a ground where the crowds would be higher? eg Marvel Stadium, Accor Stadium (otherwise known as the Sydney Olympic Stadium)?

Yes.

No.

They would offer it to Hobart and Canberra before they repeated a city.

Forecast suggesting showers developing in the afternoon. Might be able to get a session and a half in if we're lucky?

There is not a city in Australia that would get smaller crowds than Perth for a test match.

Im thinking if and when that Hobart stadium gets their stadium ready for AFL, Perth potentially may struggle to hold that 5th test during the summer.

At the moment it would take alot for Perth to lose that.

In Rangoon that is called 'the dry season'
No it isn't. The record wettest year ever on earth is 26.47 m. And that was an entire year not an hour. I have lived in some of the world's wettest places and 20mm an hour is nothing, but 20 m an hour is impossible.

Probably.

The way I see it if both the new Hobart stadium is complete and the Gabba is out of commission due to renovations I see the schedule like this

1st test SCG
2nd test AO
3rd test Perth Stadium
4th test MCG
5th test Hobart.

Leaving aside that Docklands doesn't currently meet CA's requirements for FC cricket (mostly due to lack of practice facilities) and the ICC doesn't allow for Tests to be played under a roof:

So close to the Boxing Day game against the same opposition? Unlikely.
However, if Perth got a New Years Tests, they might draw more people (but probably still less ticket revenue) than Sydney.
CA would be more likely to just cut back to 3-4 Tests a summer, and drop Perth without replacing it, rather than add Docklands.

2026/27 will see two MCG Tests, one in March for Test cricket's 150th anniversary. That will probably hold up over both games, given one is marquee timeslot (v NZ) and one a special event against high-drawing England, but isn't a guide for regular summers or games so close together.
