Harry Sheezel should win the Rising Star but won’t as the AFL don’t want anyone from the NMFC to win any major individual or team award.
Look at the All Australian award how many times has Goldstein missed out Tarrant and Ben Brown the same as the AFL is a boys club and they don’t individual from a lower placed club winning or being selected in Teams of the year.
Not in 2023,2024 and onwards.

It would be awesome to see Harry win even though it’s early in the season. He has been super consistent and a shinning light in the current gloomy outlook. The fact that the media have acknowledged him with a nomination and continue to talk about his work rate / games each week gives us the possibility of this happening. I wouldn’t be surprised if Will Ashcroft will be right up there after his game from the weekend displaying his talent…it’s just wait and see. Just be glad we have this talented individual on our list, he’s one of us….and l would take future premiership player over rising star, All Australian any day.

Yeah . I know they don’t have much say but not much live for Harry from the media. Seems all Money going with Ashcroft . apparently sheezle is about 3rd or 4th in line .

One thing the team needs to work on, freeing blokes up. Shepard and block so Harry can get the footy. Curtis and Taylor in the forward line, one has to shepard so the other nails the goal, they did neither. One thing to work on for the group, play for each other. Pies block for Daicos all day.

I actually did see L Mac do that for Sheez on multiple occasions in the Suns game particularly early on. I think the team were focused on getting it into Halls hands though in his first game back.

Well that's good, I just see a lot of guys give the hands and just stop engaging in the play when they could put a block on.
Maybe they're told not to block anymore because if you hit them high you're suspended.
Maybe part of it is I think they're all worried about themselves getting a kick so some self-preservation kicks in.
The good sides work for each other and do those things. It will come in time when we get better as a team.

Harry’s “problem” will be that he came out of the gates so hard, 25 possession games will be looked at as “meh”

On that the market had sheezel $2.20 second fave and ashcroft fave (can't remember price)

It's already swung sheezel $1.91 to ashcroft $2.30.

If there was ever a year to award a draw though this one would be it. It is pure and simple opinion with this crop. Ashcroft plays in the guts, but sheezel plays for a bottom side, where as Owen's plays fwd in a dominating at times team.

Owen's is the weakest for me though. He's level isn't up there for mine. And of course this is just an opinion

It’s almost like when a team is 8 goals up at 3/4 time, but the commentators say if the opposition get the first goal of the last qtr, they are a real chance in this
