Adams was BOG for us in the 2018 grand final. Came 2nd in the Norm voting. Which I'm sure many of you are aware of.

But did you know Longmire was one of the judges and the only judge to not award Adams a single vote when the other 3 either had him BOG or 2nd BOG? Seems Horse might have his blinkers on when it comes to Adams.

Why Longmire would not select a fit, proven big stage player, even if a little past his best, has me baffled. Particularly for guys with injury concerns. You at least know Adams will give his all.

It won't matter tonight - you will still win. But I think there's a good chance you might find out on GF day that Longmire has just dropped a Clydesdale-sized sh*t in your bed if he persists with this decision.
Prophecy!

I am not sure how anybody feels Taylor Adams is cooked. His last game he got 17 dis, 8 CP and 6 tackles - second to Rowbottom. Mind boggling really. He is still above average in major stats of his position. That's not cooked.

His position with those stats is half forward, not an inside midfielder where he spent little time. When played on the inside he struggled to get first hands on the ball, as would be his job.

As an inside mid I reckon his days are behind him and as a half forward we should be looking for players that are more dynamic and can apply more pressure (and be able to kick would be ideal…).

Each to their own.

I am not sure whether he was given much opportunity as an inside mid to be honest.

Punished because someone in his circle leaked the QF team. Horse put his personal relationships with some players and his ability to hold a grudge against others before making the decision that was best for the club.
I know people are upset but you don’t have much basis for this.

For certain though, someone in his circle shouldn’t have leaked the team, it’s poor form on his part, and he was clearly on the outer anyway…. Given he may have leaked that he was out of the team….

I don't think it is too much to infer that Horse put his personal trust in Reid before his brain when playing him in 2022. I don't think therefore, that it is too much of a stretch to infer that he has overlooked McDonald's injury out of a sense of guilt of what he did to him in 2022. I believe it absolutely shows Horse let's his emotions get in the way of his decision making at the selection table.

Horse isn’t the only selector it must be noted. McDonald was signed off by the medical staff.

Reid I think we were screwed without him, as we continue to be without talls that can genuinely compete consistently in the air and win more than their share. So concede that was a desperate move.

Interestingly, McDonald had the second highest speed in attack and highest for the Swans, so it would seem like he was moving well enough.

Still don’t think it stacks up with Adams, who was the one noted.

I liked the bits he did more than others . But I also get the frustration with him.

I felt like his limited time on ground and in the action was to get his body through to September. He was one who was ok in the real shit patch too.

But then we cut the bloke and did turn it into him or Parker forward .

Anyway I think he is stuck with us and we are stuck with him, so can we just ****en play him in and under to help rowbottom ? I don't want him leading our inside 50s (though no one else hit a target saturday) But play him inside in the guts and if he can't perform then **** him off to the VFL .

Yes he didn't play as well as he could have at times , but also was used in an odd way by the coaches imo

strangely i am with you on this. Hes an inside mid - his kicking is poor relatively. But given the game plan seemed to have changed to just kick the bejesus out of it to a general area i reckon he could do that just as effectively.

We have got to find a way to win the ball at the contest and get to the next contest and weve got to do that faster. we were run off our legs all over the ground because they won it and we had to chase. maybe us winning it a little may help.

Anyway I've got to get off this website. I let my hope get the better of my expectations and now I have got such a level of annoyance that its hard to do the other things that i need to do.

To me he should be in and under and if he gets 25 touches then 15 are handballs to better kicks
