Has North found a key defender?

Charlie Comben was far from perfect, but in his new role as a key defender and playing just his 10th game in five seasons, was a real shining light for the Roos. Although opponent Joe Daniher kicked five goals, they weren't all directly on Comben, the 22-year-old was proactive in his approach and had more than his fair share of wins against Brisbane's spearhead. He finished 25 disposals, a game-high 13 intercepts and three contested marks. - afl.com.au

Yes ok but who is that going to be . Logue maybe for now .
That's a question for another day, Old Boy.

Maybe someone who's not at the club yet?

Doesn't need to be a superstar. Just a big campaigner with intent.

Just watched the video of Charlie speaking after the game. He almost looks like he is going to cry. So honest about his game and his desire for himself and the team to get better. If all the other players felt the way Charlie feels, we would be on our way in no time,
Where was this interview leighlee13 ? giantroo any chance?

Bless him. Good to know someone cares.

Baptism of fire for Chom in the first half but he weathered the storm and it all clicked into place.

Fantastic today.

Well done Chom and **** the c*ck gobblers who are potting him.

Yes. The coaches should be elevating this kind of attitude. Axe-swinging time. If you don't give a **** then have fun in the VFL until you learn to care.

Yes.

There was not much to hang our hats on today (mind you, we don't have many hats at the present) I thought his second half performance in particular, was very promising. All we need him to do, is just keep on putting in the hard yards he did today and remain uninjured,

If we get nothing else this season, if he can keep taking small steps - todays second half were quite big steps - then we might at last have a decent sized defender, who can take on the gorillas that every other team has it seems.

It’d be easy for him to look at his stats and where he’s come from and be content. And you couldn’t blame him. But he’s hurting. Love it.

They were right to play him at CHB.
Yep they were, it gets him to find and possess the ball more, he's the one doing the crunching rather than the other way around and hes learning how forward patterns from some of the best players....but l don't think he should the permanent CHB because his marking is what we sadly miss up forward.

Yes. I thought that Greenwood also looked pretty upset.
He was dejected. Love it when players hurt like we do, it means something to them.

The laughing and tapping the opposition players on the arse squad after a 10 goal drubbing can GAGF.
