What is it about Pink that makes everybody ****ing love him? I have never loved a 'bare minimum' player as much as I love Pinky, and clearly I'm not the only one.

To be clear I'm not being superior, I also really like the Pink meme. I just am not self-aware enough to figure out why we are all like this haha
Hes a battler that has stepped up and is filling a role for us in void of a hole we are yet to fill. He doesnt complain , keeps his chin up and sacrifices his game for souva to have some room to operate.

Doesn't always win aerially but still competes often bringing the ball to ground where our mid height fwds or mods can capitalize or occasionally shows creativity below his knees.

Most likely wont be there in a few years when we are competing but will be fondly remembered just as matty larkey and troy makepiece are for chopping in whilst we were going through tougher times.

Exactly. I also love a story of a mature age recruit. Too often your chance is done if you havent made it by 20. He was let go. Worked hard and earnt a spot at a team that needs a guy like him. A guy whose willing to play 2nd or 3rd fiddle for the star to shine. Not complain and just do his job.

People forget, not every player in the 70's and 90's was a super star. We had great role players. For every Corey Mckernan there was a Fridge Roberts.

ROO RECRUIT EARNS ANOTHER YEAR

MATURE-AGE recruit Toby Pink has triggered an extension at North Melbourne for 2025.

The 25-year-old arrived at Arden Street as a delisted free agent last October after earning a second chance in the AFL, following a dominant season for Glenelg in the SANFL.

Pink made his debut against Greater Western Sydney in round one, seven years after being drafted by Sydney – where he spent three seasons on the rookie list without playing a senior game – and is now up to 12 appearances.

Tickled Pink: Toby dobs two against ex-side

North Melbourne's Toby Pink buries two first-quarter goals against his former club
The South Australian joined the Kangaroos on a one-year deal but has now hit a trigger for a second season.

Pink was signed to bolster a backline that lost Ben McKay to free agency and Griffin Logue to a long-term knee injury last year.

But after starting in defence, Alastair Clarkson has used Pink at the other end of the ground in recent weeks – the position Sydney drafted him as back in 2016 – and he kicked two goals against the Swans on Saturday. – Josh Gabelich

Good news, well-deserved and couldn't be happier for the bloke.
