Just cannot play injured. He needs to be at full fitness to have the explosive power.

He's our barometer. If he's off, we're off.

I’m gonna bring this up again. In one of the better games we played this year (depressing I know) we functioned much better up forward, both structurally and pressure-wise, without Cam. Might be a coincidence, might not. But he is one of those “kids” who aren’t kids anymore and I wonder if he is one who we could trade to shake up the losing culture that pervades the group.

Jy, Larkey, LDU, TT, McKay, Logue, Scott and Cam — these are the guys that need to lead from next year on. McKay might go, whatever. I question whether Cam has the drive to get fit enough to be a consistent performer, and in that he reflects the culture that needs to change if we’re to go anywhere.

It would be a huge risk. I realise I’m making assumptions. But he is part of the shit culture now and of all the above I question his desire and work rate the most.

You reckon the bloke who kicked 6 in our only decent win last year and who kicked 3 in a final quarter this year in which we led, is one of the poster boys for the club's losing mentality. Hard disagree. He just needs to stop being lazy at training

I fear trading him might kill the soul of the group given he's mates with Logue and a lot of the boys.
Wait till end of 2024. There will be more pressure on him and Stevo to perform next year from Brayden George, Cooper and Hansen Jnr.
I'd challenge him to get fitter and have more impact on games across 4 quarters. He may need to play more midfield long term.

Trading him would be one of the worst decisions the clubs made

Ischenko allowing training standards to drop ≠ being resigned to losing on gameday. Cam wants to win and is often there when the game's in the balance, on the rare occasions that it is. A bit of guidance throughout preseason and he'll be able to help us get ourselves into that position more consistently

I don’t want to see him go, but I think the club has a decision to make as he’ll be a FA end of next year and could leave for less than we would get as a trade.

Just to make it clear I don’t want to trade him.
He won’t go
Loves the club and the boys here (Larkey, Logue, Sleevo, ct etc)

He's working harder than he ever has this year. He's also less selfish, ranked very highly for goal assists this year previously was in the 200s.

He's buying into whatever it is Clarko was selling and has obviously worked harder on his fitness than ever before. If he keeps this up he will continue to improve as a team player every year. Add that to his ability to win matches and someone needs a damn good reason to trade him.

Fair. But surely if those standards don’t lift soon then his career is going to be wasted. Throwing it out there as an option is all. Don’t think any players are off limited bar LDU, Larkey, Sheez, Wardlaw and Phillips. TT should be also, but obviously more complicated.
