i feel like a grinch but i'm more convinced Konstas isn't ready for test cricket which sounds strange. Rode his luck and hit some great shots no question but then got out to a 90km dart on leg stump.

Contraversial call here . That was incredibly entertaining stuff from Konstas but it aint sustainable in the long term. I hope he can adapt because people will be calling for is head if he gets out ramping in other situations.
He showed he can adapt by playing like that, that isn’t how he typically goes about it at shield level.

I could play both left and right handed and suggested I could change sides to hit shots while batting and a guy who was an umpire told me it was illegal……
30 years ago suburban cricket. Would have been fun

Damage already done, most first 11 teams in suburban cricket are filled with blokes who should have retired 5 years ago.

Who can only throw the ball from the outfield underarm
David Gower was like that for the last few years of his Tesr career. There was always someone chasing him chasing the ball so it could be returned.

And if “hero” Kohli tried the same shoulder at a bar or nightclub rather than a sporting field, he’d be dropped on his a rse, and deservedly so!
He’s a real tough guy with female reporters or when protected by umpires..

As exciting as Konstas was, I just don't rate the method. Love some of the aggressive stuff but the lap sweep stuff will absolutely do me.

We need to finally pull the trigger on Mitch Marsh. Enough is enough.

Piss weak from our squad that it took a 19 year old on debut for someone to play aggressively to Bumrah

Feel for McSweeney. Not an opener and thrown to the wolves in tough conditions. Hope to see him back in the side down the track.

Kohli should of got a ban but true to form the ICC are Weak as piss. Gutless CA and our players won't stand up for our own. Khawaja too busy trying to cuddle Kholi.

My mate used to swap hands batting playing indoor cricket in the 90s. He's the original KP if KP had gone on to be an ATO lawyer.
1991 - I was playing u-16s. We had a bye one Saturday, so played a practice match against the A-Grade, who all had to bat with the wrong hand. Must have been a good warm up - that afternoon in the actual A-grade game, one of our bats pulled out a reverse pull for 6. It was the first time anyone there had thought about it.

I strongly suspect many in the team will.

I was watching with my son-in-law, the thing that REALLY got under my skin was Usman's behaviour toward Kohli.

Cuddling the opposition protagonist was your first option Ussie? Instead of standing up for your young teammate on his debut.

I think Konstas showed the way to behaving toward this Indian team, and maybe some of the blokes in our side might be a tad sheepish at the meek behaviour we've displayed.

But that's just my opinion.
His approach was to diffuse the situation. He knew it was Kohli’s fault, hence he put his arm around him and didn’t bother doing anything to Konstas because he knew the kid did not do anything wrong.

As for this team, I think they have been irretrievably scarred from sandpaper gate that they do not want to do anything that could be seen as antagonistic and inflammatory behaviour.

There simply is nothing more tedious than Indian fans posting on Twitter. I thought US politics was bad on there. Has nothing on Indian cricket fans. Worst fans in all of sports.

RIP Sam Konstas’ Instagram page. Flooded with posts going back months.😂
I don't know these idiots would be up there

Yep they think it's woke to say Happy Boxing Day Test Eve.
What simpletons.

For all the posters declaring that Konstas’ approach is not sustainable, how about we wait until the second innings to evaluate his batting approach. Until then, what we have is a kid who scored 60 on debut which was more convincing than the guy he replaced who scrounged 72 runs across 6 innings.
Yep - as much as I disliked Warner, he was still pretty effective for an unconventional batsman. Konstas is going to be boiled lollies or chocolates by his play style - main thing is he is young and to invest resources into him. T

I don't think it's slowed down it's just only every so often you get a number of 150km plus types at Test level, then there are guys capable of pushing that speed in certain spells etc. but hang more in the 140km range.

I reckon Jeff Thomson is full of shit tbh I really doubt he was any quicker than Lee, Akhtar etc. at least on any consistent basis.
You must be fairly young.
