I don’t mind old Ravi - he’s an entertainer, in a style that’s pretty rare for an Indian.
He’s also got that Mark Waugh arrogance streak, which feels a bit “Aussie” to me which endears him even more to me
and has some favorite tennis players too
That looks the perfect wicket for Scott Boland, hope it is as green tomorrow, hopefully not later on today for him.Hear we go Konstas !
Of course it’s a legitimate action, there is no bending of the elbow to extend through the action to generate unnatural speed or spin. Which is what a throw is.Would have thought the kink in the arm would be in the opposite direction.
I am happy to be convinced otherwise by anyone who thinks this action is legit.
He’s also Fox sports conduit to the Indian team this tour - the sooks refuse to talk to Aussie media, so he’s the key to controlled interviews with the likes of Kohli and the other sooksI like his work as well - in India he has to toe the BBC line but he's fun out here. Looks like he's enjoying it.
I remember watching Steve Waugh make his Test debut against India in a Boxing Day Test, it was also Hooksey's last Test. The hype around Australia India Tests has changed just a bit since then too.
Boxing Day 1989.
I’m sure the twin centuries on the 51m boundary oval will stand him in good stead.Going to find out quickly if the wonder kid is all his talked up to be.
Does Ravi realise the thing he is holding in his hand captures the sound he is making and then amplifies it?
We batting - everyone gets what they want
The two images I posted show it significantly bent, then extending to a dead straight arm just as the ball is released?Of course it’s a legitimate action, there is no bending of the elbow to extend through the action to generate unnatural speed or spin. Which is what a throw is.
Look at a throwing action alongside a Bumrah delivery, and it’s obvious what the difference is.
Added an important word GMac.That looks the perfect wicket for Scott Boland, hope it is as green late tomorrow, hopefully not later on today for him.
I wonder if the 2013 Ashes record can be broken - 91,112Today is a sellout but interested to see what the crowd number is.

This is a vibe selection, not a performance one.
It’s the Greg Chappell “ignore youth at your peril” talk. The argument is that in order to survive and prosper, players tend to curb the flamboyant aspects of their game. If you want to see the best versions of them go watch them before teams have worked them out.Hearing a lot this morning about how Konstas is young and has no baggage.
A clever way of spinning limited experience in a short career.
That's like saying Australian Idol isn't as bad as Big Brother. He still isn't as annoying as Hayden even when he is yelling.
Bending the arm back from the elbow is not a throw. There is no contraction of arm muscle in the lead in to delivery, not any arm muscle action pushing through the ball generating extra spin or pace which is why throws are banned. The two images I posted show it significantly bent, then extending to a straight arm just as the ball is realised?
That alone is how a throw is done - it’s the bend-to-straight action that imparts the extra energy on the ball.
Chuckers arms bend forward, not backwardsBumrah’s “hyper extension” vs Cummins:

A question: if I put up say Murali’s action, the bend and direction of bend is near on identical. What makes this a hyper extension, but not Muralis?
- there’s nothing “opposite direction to a normal chuck” about it, it even straightens again like a good old throw (try it yourself from that arm position)

Hope he has a good one. Really excited, but nervous for him. What an occasion for a young man to debut.Looking forward to this entire board writing him off if he fails.
Strange lineup from India
