But why are we fixating on long-term sustainability after he's played one good innings? He went out with a plan and it worked. Maybe he can adjust his game style where required.

100% Agree. This was an overexaggerating of his natural game due to the plan to disrupt India, the brazenness of youth and probably a little bit of pressure/panic.

The takeaway is he is a natural opening batsman with the ability to play all round the pitch, has amazing hand-eye and clearly unbelievable potential.

I am sure over time he will reign in the shots compared to this innings! However he is someone we need to look after and give a real sustained shot too.

In any game but especially in this heat you want to wear the bowlers down because Bumrah and ravi are world class but the supporting cast isn't great. You keep your wickets in tact and bat slowly if you need to so that by the 50th over bumrah has to keep coming back and is cooked and then guys like head can cash in. You try to only bat long and bat once
It would have been better if we were 0 down even with half the runs.

So considering that Konstas batting the way he did says either a) he does his own thing and doesn't follow instructions or b) if they told him to bat like that he was given the wrong plan and our coaches don't know what they are doing.
