It was never going to be that. The actual impact was minimal, talk of "shoulder charge" is beyond exaggeration. Walking off his line before then looking down at the ball did mean he deliberately instigated contact. I could have seen the fine being higher but that's about it.

Lining up is pushing it come off it he didn’t tackle the bloke like a linebacker. They don’t suspend players unless it’s utterly bad I mean ball tampering is 1 match. A demerit point which Carries for a year is fine

punishment enough that the entire cricket world has seen the w***er get tilted by a 19yr old who has the limelight while Kohli dies in the rear view mirror.

I'm in the same boat. Give them a sentence that is in line with someone biting a ball to change it or rubbing the ball on their zipper, or rubbing the ball with mints to change it's performance. No dramas then. It's fair & consistent for everyone.

I don't think the pitch is that easy. I reckon 350 is a good score. Anything above is a bonus. I feel that India were too short, not enough balls were hitting the stumps & Konstas put them off their game early. Doubt Cummins & Boland in particular will give that luxury.

hard to tell how flat or easy the pitch until india bats. however i don't see india scoring 300 with their batting line up.

That was unconventional but wasn't swinging from the arse. To play shots like that you need an eye like a dead fish & very quick reflexes. I'm sure he can play conventional too, but I bet you most players that play conventional can't do that. Nice to have a few bows to your arrow. Sure he rode his luck, but Travis head does that too, as did Gilly & Warner. The point is when it comes off, you put your team in a very strong position which we are now. Give me that innings today rather than a cautious 60 ball 15 run innings.
