When Cummins follows his instincts, he's actually a pretty good tactician. He uses Travis Head pretty well, and he's taken plenty of wickets through nifty field placings - the leg slip/gully trick was one of Michael Clarke's favourites, and Cummins has used it more than once, including to dismiss Akash Deep yesterday.

And although it's a different format, his captaincy during the 2023 WC final was masterful.

He only looks moronic when he rigidly adheres to pre-conceived plans (2023 Ashes, 2023/24 SCG).
Captaincy - in my humble opinion in 95% instinct and 5% set plans - he is at time inventive but often i reckon he misses the simple stuff

Can't someone sit Flem down and tell his to lay off these idiotic terminologies?
It’s his thing - like Skull’s laugh as they get older (and coverage lurches to more entertainment than analysis) they feel they have to pull it out more often
