Pitch still offering SFA it has to be said. If that doesn't change in the next couple of days are people allowed to criticise it without being told "GO BACK TO T20 HURR DURR"?

I'm not denying that it's been more of a batsman's pitch. But I also think the bowlers in general haven't performed well.

Some Aussie players who had been building form managed to deliver at the same time (just swap Ussie for Head), alongside a kid who served up something different.

India with this line up bat pretty Deep.

Not much more to it than that, given the bowlers have failed to step up.
Not denying that we have a habit of doing this regularly but this feels like the MCG of old. Flat and slow. Which is a long way off what it was looking like doing after day 1.

Youd almost want to be chasing a total at this stage (assuming you can get close enough in the first innings). Gives me Gabba/Headingly vibes where it’s super easy to just sit on the back foot and wait for the ball to get to you.

It's BigFooty so you already know it will be over the top, incessant whinging about the worst pitch ever vs statements like the bolded.

Balanced views migrate to other places, I assume.

In typical Cummins captaincy style, we’re well on top.
Well said, mate. He's been an excellent captain, captaining us to a World Test Championship, ODI World Cup, and only 1 Test series loss.

Good to see you give him his due respect.

There is a bit of Warwick Todd with Travis Head too.

This is test cricket. Wicket not doing much and two decent set bats. Why does everyone on here collectively lose their shit when things don’t go our way for an hour or two? Sometimes you just have to grind it out for a bit. We take one and we will wrap things up fairly quickly you think. Any lead over 50-100 is going to be match winning.

Agreed. Far from the biggest road ever, but I think one that warrants reasonable criticism. I don't feel there's been enough of a contest between bat and ball, with most of the important dismissals coming from the batters making dumb errors.

Normally I'd be with you, but this has been quality batting and application from 8/9.

Something our lower middle order would do well to emulate more frequently.

It's a bit of a featherbed now though, rather than "road"

Is it that or Starc has been poor and Lyon has nothing on the ball?

These blokes both average 50. Not exactly tailenders.
Reddy averages 20 in first class cricket. Not exactly a world class batsman

His Test career average is boosted by the fact he has only played his Test series here against a bowling attack who have no idea what to do against him.
