Inglis or Webster need to be batting at 6 come the SCG.

Games still on, but these two will need to put on 50.
Had to be Webster, our bowlers are worn out and he can help with that. He should have been in for this test.

Cummins can hang around batting for a while but Labu, Carey and Cummins need to.get lead to at least 300.

...just no. The Ashes is and always will be the most heated rivalry to any Australian player. Any of series is a pretty cheap facsimile in terms of emotional motivation.

They'd definitely still prefer to win this trophy then sew up the WTC berth but your assertion that this is the most heated rivalry they have is wildly off base

Im not saying it’s the most prestigious, I’m saying heated. I don’t believe - despite Bairstow-Gate - the level of hatred and dislike is there between the sides that there is between these two. The Ashes is and always will be The Ashes. But Australia has for large periods owned it and most of these players have grown up with Australia dominating England when they come over here and all these hard fought but good natured series, the Flintoff-Lee photo or whatever.

This partnership could be the series

Yup, it's got to survive this session at least for Australia to regain control.

Potentially a huge innings for Labs career as well.

Edit: well ****.
