Look if their top 4 gets going it's irrelevant as they would have chased 300 or 400 in that circumstance.
But if they lose a few wickets early and then finish 7 down late in the day that's when we will regret not going harder tonight and having the extra 10-15 overs. Jadeja in particular is the type who is likely to just block for a draw.

But with starc and Marsh cooked Cummins probably felt he couldn't risk it.
Love how you guys can predict exactly what will happen tomorrow.
Did you predict 4 for 11 and from 6-91 to be 330 ahead?
Lol anything can happen.

On SM-S908E using BigFooty.com mobile app

Come back out and bat tomorrow and really try to drive the screws in.
And Gaz deserves the chance to get to 50. Would have to be right up there, for most runs made without one.

Rightly so.

Hopefully the papers get the reason right though if it does happen.

I can't be bothered scrolling back through the forum, but what did Cummins do wrong?

For a large part of today, it looked like India would be chasing 230 and the series was likely over.

There was no need to panic today and declare like this is a must win game.

3 bowlers down though, Starc has been shit and look a bit injured, Marsh is bowling 115-125km and spin doesn't look like playing a part on day 5 as usual.

Being shit for an innings doesn't count as a bowler down. Otherwise, India wouldn't have wasted any time with Siraj today.

There's 90 overs, and Starc and Lyon will certainly have a say in it.

I think both teams and both boards would like draw here . So SCG test becomes decider and creates more hype .
BGT trophy win outright will have special feeling for both teams .
SCG has been always been kind to subcontinental teams .
Dont know how the SCG pitch plays nowadays ..but im sure it supports spin.

Leads that category by over 300 runs

Of course could of been 0 50 but sometimes you have to gamble to win

And we are behind we need to win the test this one or the next one drawing is not going to help us
We are not behind, the series is 1-1.

And drawing will help us more than losing will.

Also on Bumrah watch, 140.3 overs in four matches and 230 overs since Sept 19. Could be looking at 180-ish come the time we finish this series and 270 since Sept 22. Cummins and Starc aren't far behind with 118 and 115 respectively, but had time off.

We'll see if the idea to grind him into the ground pays off in Sydney regardless what happens here.

Gee, Australia have just got out of Dodge with their pants on...great effort by Lyon and Boland. If India win from here they deserve it, but Australia has some middle order selection concerns, surely Marsh has played his last Test Match?
Yep.
If we do pull off a win here I just hope it doesn’t mask over the obvious cracks in this side.

It's Sydney. It is going to rain. Australia need to get it done tomorrow.

Yes I know that

I just would’ve preferred as bowling tonight and have them 2 down chasing 300 plus

Yes it’s nice Lyon and boland made 50 odd runs and it’s great to watch but in reality our top order was pathetic again and should be putting the score on the board .. that’s the issue for me
