Do what North did with Wardlaw, play him for two weeks rest for one then bring him back. I think Wardlaw then played two more before getting picked in the Seniors.
If going well in 5-6 weeks time then I hope he is giving Scott a headache at the selection table.

18 possessions, 4 marks, 6 clearances and a goal in three quarters - and there were numerous times that he made good position and wasn't used. He will be too good for VFL very quickly.
I suspect he might be simultaneously too good for the VFL while lacking the fitness to play AFL.

If someone pings a hammy in the first minute Elijah will have no chance of running out a full game. Give him a few weeks in the twos. He also hasn’t earned selection yet.

The VFL team has the bye round the same week the seniors do.

Probably good for Tsatas, can increase the load this week and then have a break
Standard for everyone in the AFL

Except the whole AFL aren't a week back from a 18 week meniscus injury and trying to build match fitness.

So not really standard. At all.
Well, the part about reserves team sharing the same bye as the seniors is.

With Shiel out, wouldn’t be against playing him as sub this week to give him a taste.

I think having a young player as the sub is peak stupidity. The best subs are experienced versatile players who know how to contribute to winning in multiple roles even if they are fringe best 22

If a young player isn’t best 22 they are better off getting a full game in the VFL

He looked really impressive. But midway through the third term cramped in both calves and couldn’t run defensively. Needs plenty of time to build up endurance. Such an exciting prospect.

Pitty the umpires are hopeless. This was called a free kick against him...when it should have been high and he would have had a shot at goal. Instead it went straight down the other end for a Kangeroos goal.

I was watching the highlight. Is this the one he got coat hangered
The umpires really don't like paying few kicks to Essendon players. After the umpiring in the seniors a few of the umpires should be getting a break. Is bloody embarrassing how bad they are

Yep that's the one. Clear over the shoulder and high. Only way he would of got the free is if he was decapitated. He didnt even duck into it. I only watched some of the match and once i saw the free against him I turned it off.

I watched the start of the game. Saw his first goal. That was excellent. Then I start questioning the umpires and have to turn it off.
